Expecting too much too soon...

As a fan base, are we not giving the man time to put his plan in place? Is he just slow in developing his system here at TN?

And what about Gus, Gene and Hugh? Seems like the fan base is trying to single out all of their flaws, but these are proven coaches with baggage...like everyone else. We cannot go into lab and create the perfect coach who wins at least 10 games a year.

Let’s get realistic. We don’t need a guy who runs out the clock with 2 minutes to go and who cannot get past 3rd down to pick up first downs consistently. Nerve wracking.

There’s a difference in needing time to install your system and being able to motivate the boys and get them ready to compete week in and week out. When you’re losing by 21 or more points and the body language these guys display show they don’t care. He can’t get the players focused or even ready to play. The evidence for change is there.

Developing his system? He doesn’t have a system. He’s never been a head coach before. And even though I really do like Pruitt as a person he’s just not an intelligent guy. He’s not every going to have a system to implement.

Guys that have been long term head coaches develop systems based on what’s worked amd what hasn’t over time.

3 years and a almost a dozen losses by double digits is enough. He is the same as Dooley without the ability to talk. No where is life can can you perform like this and continue to have a job.

Merry Christmas and time to turn the page on 2020 and JP.

If we go 3-7 in year 3 witha young QB and close losses, very few in the fan base are calling for CJPs head...
It is the double digit losses, it the lack of QB development, it the lack of effort, and 2nd half adjustments that show it not just a late development issues for CJP.

This is all true but to be fair 9 of those blowouts came to 3 teams that we know are/were better then us. We had alot of ground to make up on them. I think we have all seen the team come out prepared to play. Their problem is learning how to finish games. When your team leaders aint never won how are they supposed to teach the younger guys. That makes it a process bc now u have to learn on the job. Man we fielded one of the youngest teams in the country the last couple years.

I think the blowout losses to Kentucky and Arkansas this year were inexcusable. Getting physically dominated by GA state last year was also terrible.

His system is in place and in 3 years his system produced JG as the best chance to win. His system barely beat Kentucky last year and then that same system lost to Kentucky by 27 points this year. His system seems to require a lot of yelling at players and includes firing coaches during games. I am sick of his system. I want a new system that wins. I have watched Hugh Freezes system since he was at Briarcrest High School in Memphis. His system and plan have worked everywhere he has coached. I'm ready for him to bring that plan and system that works to Knoxville.

Should we be the playoff right now? No.

Should we beat - or play to within a few points - any team that we outrecruit every single year? Yes.

A close loss to Kentucky and a win over Ark and the fan base might be more likely to give him time. But frankly, the wheels came off this year.

Not to mention public recruiting blunders, mask fines and outright idiotic press conferences.
