Expectations For The Rest Of The Season

Does idiot refer to people who don't agree with your opinion? There's plenty of people I disagree with on here, but as far as I know they are intelligent people.

Not sure why you'd attach yourself to the comment. Guess that's on you.

My expectation is I'm taking one game at a time - I expect us to beat Missouri.

Florida still has to lose to LSU. Until that happens any SECCG talk is meaningless.

You really have to much faith in Jones to do the right thing. He's not dumping the OC he hand picked or any of his buddies for that matter.

When this team and the coaches are on the field I do support them and want them to succeed. My point in my prior post is that CBJ's future is in his hands with his decisions. Fans have zero decision input into his choices. They 100% belong to CBJ and him alone. So for the sake of the progam yes I hope he makes some smart choices here soon. If not than in probably 2 years we will be looking for new coaches. :hi::hi:

Beat Missouri and Vandy

Lose to Bama, which might be a little closer this time

Citrus bowl vs Florida state, roll through them and this puts us at 10-4.

Hire new OC, OL, and strength coach.

Expect to win the last 2.
Expect Bama to win convincingly over either UT or UF. 3 tds+. But it looks likely that its UT.
The bowl game is hard to handicap given the opponent is unknown.

If we catch a decent team I see 9-5 as the finish. If we pull similar teams to the last 2 years I would expect to win.

That record will not pass the eye test nor will the play on the field. Last years team played better football for the season than this group has. Poorly coached and undisciplined in several areas have lead to inconsistency and turnovers that have derailed an 11 win regular season.

yeah, i think this season kind of ends a little like last season, no matter what happens in Baton Rouge Saturday....a "what might have been" type feeling...

that USCe game took a lot of things off the table from a bowl game standpoint, top 10 ranking standpoint etc...

and there's a lot of assumptions being made...if FL wins Saturday, no title game, so you're 9-3 reg season....and a bowl game 10-3/9-4 result...just kind of levels off the progress we've been making, and you still have the bad taste in your mouth of just how this team has played all season...

i really want to win the East. i like the idea of us playing on that last Saturday, being "part of the event", relevant to the conversation, even though there's really no chance at winning it.

i'll put it this way, i'd rather not watch FL again. i don't think i can stomach CJM winning back to back East titles...

Many on here had 2 or 3 as the max number of losses before the season.

Misleading statement.

Many on VolNation had 2 losses in the regular season as their definition of a good year.

After that, what happens in the post-season, most folks were split on. Most did not say they expected to win the SEC, only to get to Atlanta and give it a shot.

So that's 10-3.

And then, every bowl game is a 50/50 proposition when you're looking at it from the pre-season. Mainly because you have no idea who you'll be playing, or where, or under what circumstances (what kind of momentum). So either 11-3 or 10-4.

That is more accurately how I would describe most VolNation folks' predictions and expectations in the pre-season.

p.s. And note: we can still get to 10-4...we can technically still get to 11-3, but that would involve a miracle win in Atlanta. 10-4 is more likely.

I expected 10-2 going to ATL with loss to Bama and Fla/UGA.

When we beat both Fla/GA but lost to bama and ATM, I still expected 10-2.

So sitting 7-3 now does not meet my expectations (FWIW).

I expect to win out, compete in ATL and blow out a crappy Big 10 team in a bowl.

My expectations are for Team 120 to not lose anymore. That will be fine by me.

The Texas a&m was a game I thought we'd lose before the season. But as it turns out, we should have won easily, but didn't. The South Carolina loss was inexplicable. And bad. Every other game went as I expected (meaning the final score, but not necessarily how the game itself played out). I didn't think we would best the Tide but 39 points was a bit ridiculous.

A final record of 11-3 would be yet another two game improvement. I'd take it.

Nobody is happy we lost to SC. That one really hurt especially since it was Will Muschamp coaching.

Win out, lose to Bama, win the bowl...

I'm about neutral. Was certainly hoping for more, but the injuries have to be considered.

Boom. So well said. Which is why if we make it to Atlanta, I'd like to see something special from the BSiA. I'd like to see some evidence that after 10 years we're a little better. Butch and co need to achieve special things in the post season.
