it will be better, but with a whole new staff, some key departures on both sides of the ball.......we don't know what we're going to be bringing in for this year's class etc....and we still don't have a quarterback.

way too many variables to even guess. i think we can squeeze 6 or 7 wins out next year though. predicting anything past that is wishful thinking for me.

my gut says to be very conservative. i can't/won't make myself expect a 1 year turnaround back to SEC prominence.

i think this is something that will in fact take some time. a bowl game next year would be a great step in the right direction, all things considered.

IMO, it will take 2-3 seasons to get back to 10 wins on a consistent basis. Can't ask for more than that in the SEC since 10 wins gives you a shot at the SECCG.

If we move away from a pro style offense, we will have a 4-6 win season next year and the whole process will take an extra season or two.

At this point, I really don't care what next years record is. I think we have to sit back and let the new HC start installing his system along with the OC's and DC's systems. Hopefully it will be someone who will instill some discipline in these young men. The ones who do not wish to accept the discipline or learn the systems can politely get the h%ll out of the program and free up some scholarships.

Give the new HC a couple of years to complete the transition and bring in "his" recruits. Then, and only then, we can see what we will have. BTW, I think next years record will be either 8-4 or 9-3. Either way it will be a huge improvement IMO.

i would be ECSTATIC if we could just manage an upset of either Florida or Alabama. wishful thinking, but im wishing it.

The schedule looks soft, but that won't matter if we don't get at least serviceable QB play.

As far as next season goes, finding a QB is going to be as important as finding a coach.

The entire offense is suspect, imo. We need some bruiser RB's who can move the chains next year. Give Boyd a year to mostly handoff and grow into the position (as Tressel has done with Pryor this year).

Biggest concern: will we have an O-line who can run block?

That is all you guys want from BIG ORANGE FOOTBALL. I expect to win every game every year but my expectations and reality don't always go together. I thought this was your expectations for 2009 seasons not predictions.

Ummmm....We can't go 7-4 or 8 - 3 we play 12 games....
The OP left off Western Kentucky at the begining of the year...

I am going to ASSUME, that we get either Kelly or Kiffin and that there is some pretty solid talent on this team and the new coach gets our QB situation at least decent....

WKU - W
UCLA - W
Florida - BIG L
Ohio - W
Auburn - W
Georgia - L
Alabama - L
South Carolina - W
Memphis - W
Mississippi - L
Vandy - W
Kentucky - W

8-4 with a trip to the Peach bowl...playing Clemson in the battle of the new coaches!

We just got our asses waxed by South Carolina, and it wasn't no fluke. The UCLA game is a tossup, and I gave us that one for no good reason, so it would be closer to 5-6, but I figured the ball has to bounce our way at least once.

So
6-5
