Expectations for next year via W/L poll

I love this.
Haven't got unpacked yet, staff in place, recruits signed and in class.........But let that not get in the way of making stupid predictions.
I predict................it will look better than last year.
And that is a start....:hi:

Honestly, I think if the coaches can get them up to speed over the spring, there are only 3 certain losses: Bama, Auburn, and GA.

Record predictions aside, I really hope we don't get bit with the injury bug in 2018.

We NEED the OL/DL guys to make it through the season.

I really wanna see Tuttle, McKenzie, Phillips all blasting it next year and make our D exceptional.

I expect them to compete if every game. However, they have limitations therefore, 7-5 is certainly reasonable for this team.

Have you not picked up that there are some serious coach worshipers on this board and they will cling to anything, ANYTHING that will prove to themselves that coach has things going in the right direction and next year will be the year.

If Dooley had made a bowl his last year there would a statue and a road named after him and he would still be the coach. Did you not see the threads this year after each loss laying out how <insert record> was still possible and if coach can make a bowl game he gets another year?

This thread already has the excuse makers coming out and explaining why 6-6 is the ceiling and it is going to take 3 or more years to win 8 or 9 games.

I don't see "coach worshipers" I see a fan base that loves their team and gets behind the coach and hopes he succeeds because they want the program to succeed. Even if they are a ****ty hire which the last two were you are stuck with them. I wasn't a fan of either one but I wanted them to do well, for the PROGRAMS sake. That said I am a fan of Pruitt and in his hands UT football will greatly improve.

I see Florida being a toss up game. Yea Dan Mullin has been an HC, but it's a new atmosphere. Yes I know he has coached at Florida. Calling a win for the Vols now.

Saban got 6-6 his first year at Alabama... so 6-6 is more realistic.

I expect no worse than 7-5 next year and no worse than 9-3 the following year. With outstanding recruiting the next two years, I expect us competing in the SECCG by year three.

Then people shouldn't be shouting down CJP doubters. That's when it turns into worshipping. It is pretty much religion now around here.

Saban went 6-6 in year 1 and Bama was champs again by year 3. Not saying Pruitt will have the same route of success but we better be playing for the SEC title by year 3 or he likely won’t make a year 4 with some of the rabid fans out there that aren’t patient enough to see a rebuild happen. I would LOVE to see 8 wins next year and of course it could happen but then it depends on recruiting. If we salvage the class we got left and get lucky to land a few 5 star athletes along with 4 stars that would be great! 27th nationally sucks right now and I’m hoping by Signing Day that can be improved to 10th. That would be huge!!

1.West Virginia- Loss
2.ETSU- Win
3.UTEP- Win
4.Florida- Loss
5.Georgia- Loss
6.Auburn- Loss
7. Alabama- Loss
8.South Carolina- Loss
9.Charlotte- Win
10.Kentucky- Win
11.Missouri- Loss
12.Vanderbilt- Win

5-7, right about where I picked. The 5 games in the middle of our schedule are a freaking murderers row.
That would be unacceptable. Not that we could do anything about it, but that is pathetic.

If we only win 5 games next year then this hire and staff are a absolute failure and this program will really be a laughingstock..

Thank you gentlemen for proving my point.

6-6 bowl eligible is realistic. Maybe 7 if we jump out and cause an upset somewhere. I’m happy with the 2-3 game improvement year 1.
