Most of the opinions I'm seeing for the VOLS lean towards beating UF (some thinking blowout) but thinking GA will be very close. I understand the home field advantage but that should only be about 3pts either way. Both states produce plenty of talent and both rosters have plenty of talent. Why does a majority of fans think Kirby is automatically going to be a winning head coach in the SEC. We have already seen examples that working for Saban does not guarantee you can be head coach!! He may be great but "never" being a head coach puts a doubt in my mind that he's ready to be an SEC champ coach.
So why all the love for GA and very little for FL. Florida has shown it has a coach capable of winning.

The talent Ga has he could go in and win a lot of games. If he goes in and changes everything to fit him then he will be a bust. If he is Smart enough to learn the current terminology and just tweek it, you know do what Bowden did at Auburn, and what Mac did at Fl.

They will hafta be a lot better than last year to have much of a chance.

We lost to FL by 1 pt last year on their home field. We beat Ga by 7 pts on our home field.

Odds are better of beating FL on our field than beating GA on theirs. Road games are always tough and Athens ain't no joke when it comes to road games.

UGA fans act like they hired Saban, but Kirby could just as easily be another Muschamp. He's recruiting well, but it's not that hard to sell hope to in-state kids. Let's see what he puts on the field before we proclaim him Son of Saban.

UGA fans have been wrong before. Some of them thought we found the holy grail in Dooley.

That said, I do think the UGA game will be closer than we'd like in Athens. UT-UGA has gone down to the wire the last few years, and it wouldn't be a shock to see a 4Q battle again this year.

I do not see UGA able to give us a ball game, the beatdown by UT/120 will be on the order of how Bama pretty much humiliated them last year. If they become one dimensional on offense, see Chubb with stats pretty much around 3 ypc until Smart puts him in late and he breaks a >70 yarder against our 4th stringers as he did last year at Bama, and he'll get hosannas from his fanboys. UF will have massive issues on offense this year no matter who they will play. They have fundamental big problems on their OL not solved in one year. I see UGA taking those guys at Jville.

The main reason is because the TN vs GA game is always nuts. Look at the last 5 years or so and that will tell you everything. Every game comes down to the 4th quarter and every game has some miraculous play that seems to decide the game. That game has been the most fun to watch over the last few years, even though we've been on the wrong end of all of them except last year. GA is the team we should be worried about the most.

No doubt about that, it has been a thrill ride.
But worried, not so much. #120 is so much better than #119, they will need home field advantage to keep it close in the 1st half. Ga may be the only team we play better in the 2nd half. I expect they take a step back in 2016, they have a tough schedule.

See you in Athens.

Florida will be in the second year in their system where as UGA will be in their first.

To the Gators, this is HUGE. We will have the same coaching staff, two years in a row. That hasn't happened since the 2007 / 2008 seasons.

If Mac don't recruit better, y'all will continue your downward spiral.

There is no way fla beats us this year if we as fans do our job. They shouldn't be able to hear themselves think out on the field, much less hear anything! If we are unbeaten when we play them, last years Oklahoma game will seem quiet!

We recruited the #1 RB in Alabama this year. He is a 3* guy. He was under the radar until Jan 2016 when Satan started recruiting him. He stayed with UF rather than changing to Bama.

The same is true with our two LBs and safeties. We went toe to toe with UGA and Bama and kept our committed guys.

Mac doesn't pay attention to stars (see Callaway, Jordan, Johnson). He started 4 true freshman on offense this year, 3 on the O-line.

I think we beat UF and UGa. i also believe Ga beats UF unless Kieby gives the game away.

This team doesn't need any help from us, they got this. The fun part is they will appreciate all the help we give them even though it is not needed.

I say we need to be loud from punt to punt, that should be our goal as fans is to be loud the whole time they have the ball. TV timeout too. During the play is the time to catch your breath, once the play is over time to get loud again. I've got a project in the works to help us get loud.

I think the big advantage is they fall early in the schedule.

Agreed, if we can meet both teams before we suffer any major injuries (we usually see a couple) then I think we have a good shot to win both games, we have more stability coming back and early in the season that should be the difference maker for us to pull of wins in both of these contests.

Really need to come out of Appy State and VA Tech with no injuries and W's.

GA will lose at Ole Miss the week before UT. Besides home field advantage, it's a big mismatch at QB. Whereas 4-0 UT and the Vol nation will enter Athens feeling sky high following a blowout win over the Gators. Advantage Big Orange.
I see 2 wins vs FL and GA with a letdown the following week in College Station.

That Georgia game wasn't as close as the final score. The dawgs got their first TD on a cheap fumble return for 90 yards or so. And another TD on a bogus punt return that should have been called back due a block in the back. That's 14 points that the puppies didn't earn.

Some good comments, and I also think the Vols will win both Fl and Ga. However I still don't see why so many on here think the gators are a sure win and the dogs may win the East. Some are pointing to the last few Vol / GA games being close, but the Fl / TN games have been just as close. I want to see Kirby prove his worth before making the DOGS any kind of favorite. New QB and new head coach. Not a good recipe for championships.

The freak fumble return was actually a 10 - 14 pt swing on it's own.

Us fans have absolutely no impact on the outcome lol
