Expectations for Da'Rick Rogers?

I was just wondering what everybody's expectations were for him? I know there is a chance he could miss part of the season bc of suspension, but for the sake of things let's just say he plays the entire season. There has been many freshmen WR make a big impact in the SEC the last few years. Will he be the next?

Watch out for Hunter. They really, really like Hunter

If he was involved in the beating of that dude while he was unconscious, I hope to NEVER see Da'Rick Rogers in a Tennessee uniform. I'd honestly rather lose every SEC game than see thuggish scum (allegedly) wearing the colors of my alma mater.

The punishment should fit the crime!!! Any of these underage players could easily be kicked off the team. Rogers gansta garb that he was wearing is a disgrace to all of us!!! And to suggest that JJ did the right thing, what a joke. He had no business being there in the first place. And the only reason he is still at UT is because of ole street cred Kiffin not booting him like he should have. If you can go back and watch the video of Nukeese's attempted robbery. Jackson was not in the store, he had to have been in the car!!! Check out the video. Kiffin lied about Jackson's involvment. These thugs do not deserve a free ride at any University. Fans wake up and don't support these criminals because they can run 4.2 40!!!

If Rogers sees Jeffrey like playing time and impact, I would be MORE than happy :).

I would be more than happy with that too. Considering Jeffrey didn't play behind an amazing O-Line or have a great QB either, I think Rogers could match that impact.

Well that's great news. But I wasn't aware that he had been on campus yet. I thought he has been away doing track and long jumping stuff all summer so I doubt they ahve seen him as much as they have the other WRs. Could be wrong though.

Well that's pretty selfish of you.

Some of us would like to enjoy the football season.

he has been running track. Even he had been on campus the coaches would not have seen him so their feelings for him are from high school.

He will still be involved in track things as we move forward into the season... he has some track obligations in August

CLK threatened to leave UT (which he ended up doing anyway LOL) if the AD forced him to dismiss JJ. All 3 should have been dismissed. FWIW

Seriously? Dang, that's the first I've heard of that. Not surprised really coming from snake, but wow.

That is disapointing news to learn that Hamilton could get bullied around like that.

Oh well, I personally am glad JJ is still on the team as long as he keeps his nose clean from now on.

I think everyone deserves at least one screw up...depending on how severe it is.

I posted this befeore, and I'll post it again:

Da'Rick has NOT, I REPEAT NOT, been charged with assault!

The only charges against him (as of now) are -

1) resisting arrest: if you read the affadavit, it basically says he was tensing up and intentionally making it difficult for the officer to cuff him (IMO this is MINOR)

2) disorderly conduct: not sure exactly what the details are, but this type of a charge is not ultimately very serious unless it comes out that he did indeed kick the dude while he was on the ground. HOWEVER, if that's the case, then an assault charge will be forthcoming.

I'm not saying he doesn't have anything to be worried about - I'm just saying that at this point there's no reason to believe that he hit or kicked the dude at all (either during the brawl or after he was on the ground)

I would be more worried about Matt Milton because supposedly (at least it was reported on Friday) he has an assault charge pending per the KPD.

As long as Da'Rick doesn't get an assault charge, his punishment will most likely be relatively minor (a la Myles' first incident after the O&W game).

I think Rogers and Hunter both can have huge years as freshman as long as they have a QB that can get them the ball! Milton can be a red-zone threat if he's not suspended. This whole season is one BIG what if!

Didn't I see later that KPD said no assault charge was expected on Milton after further review? or was that Myles?

Great. I actually have not seen a lot of official documentation about the individuals involved. I left for a long-weekend vacation early Friday morning, and returned last night. My only info was coming from friends texting me the rumors they had heard. I saw Dooley's comment, but didn't know who else might have punishments coming. I hate being out of the loop.

Rogers is living in Knoxville but is he officially enrolled at UT? Some posters have made the claim Dooley wouldn't discipline him if he wasn't enrolled. Really strange DR wasn't mentioned at all in the PC.

No worries- sorry if I sounded like a smarta** - didn't intend to come across that way!

Also, we obviously have to let the process play out - it could very well be that after the additional investigation is done, he might get charged with something else..

Either way, it's still just a wait-and-see until all the facts are in.. :crossfingers:

Maybe i'm old skoo but he/they shouldn't have been there in the first place. You don't go somewhere where trouble can happen. Late night + alcohol + bar = potential trouble.

If the investigation shows he wasn't involved he should be suspended for a period of time determined by Coach Dooley...

I totally agree! Everyone involved in the beating should be kicked off the team in my opinion. I had rather go
winless this year than to have those thugs wearing orange!

I also thought it was strange that Rogers wasn't mentioned in the PC. I know for a fact that he wasn't an EE, but I'm not sure if he is enrolled at UT officially or not. Maybe he is in summer school right now? But again I'm not sure if that would mean he is officially enrolled or not. Someone who is more in the know of these things might be able to answer that question for us.
