What expectations do you want to give him, is the real question here. Sometimes, fans put too high of expectations on players and coaches for them to live up to. He's a freshman, he will play, how well he does is up to how in shape he is for SEC play and how well our O-Line blocks for the QB.

I completely agree with you, but at the same time that could be said for any wide reciever in the SEC. I was specifically wondering what people think he will do given his skill set and with our offensive line and QB(from what I'm hearing is improving). I also heard on the radio that they had talked to one of the coaches that told them Rogers looked like the most physical and athletically talented WR on our whole team during the first week of summer workouts. Maybe I'm just looking too much into the hype, but I'm really excited about what he can do for the team.

I think that putting a bunch of faith in a freshman to perform at an All-SEC type level just isn't fair. Look at Bryce last season. All the hype, and didn't get enough carries to justify the hype. Sure, he was hurt most of last year, but to bring unrealistic expectations on him was unfair. Rogers will be a great WR, IMO, just may take this season to get accustomed to the SEC, especially with all our glaring holes on the line.

If he was involved I want him off the team. Janzen Jackson did the right thing. And I know someone is going to say thats my point JJ made a bad choice and his 2nd chance seems to have paid off. The difference is JJ never hurt anyone. If anyone kicked a guy while unconcious regardles if they started it or not then Hasta la Vista Baby!! That being said if he didnt kick the man and was TRULY trying to break it up I hope he is suspended till Georgia then bring him out. I expect him to have average numbers because no fault of his own even if he can play. Those other players you mentioned had good offensive line and qb play. Da'Rick will not have long to get open before Simms or bray is looking at the sky.

JJ did not fight well enough drunk to seriously hurt someone. His chain weighed him down.

I hope darick will keep his head in the books. You can't get to the NFL if you flunk out.

I can agree with that. I believe ppl do overhype players often. But IMO Bryce's case was unfair to him. He had the #1 player in the country label on him and he played high school ball in Kansas. Not to mention apparently having a bad lingering hip injury. IMO just about everything that could have went wrong for him did..Just very unfortunate what happened.
WR is a little easier position to play without gettin injured compared to RB, and Rogers played against tough GA competition while breaking the state record for most recieving yards in a season so I believe he can adjust rather quickly and compete in the SEC at a high level.

I was just wondering what everybody's expectations were for him? I know there is a chance he could miss part of the season bc of suspension, but for the sake of things let's just say he plays the entire season. There has been many freshmen WR make a big impact in the SEC the last few years. Will he be the next?

From an athletetic standpoint he is ready to contribute but alot will depend on his ability to learn routes and read defenses. Also the qb is going to have to have time to throw to him. I would say that he has a decent season statistically and show some flashes of brillance (though he is shut down but UGA :)).

I think he could have a better than average year. I hope he has a great year though. The kid has some big time potential.

If your defense is anything like last year, you won't be able to shut down a stop sign.

While I'm hoping for Da'Rick to light it up this year, I think it's much more likely his production is similar to what Teague's was last year.

A good amount of playing time, a nice number of catches, and a couple TDs.

However, I hope I'm wrong and he just goes off on opposing defenses this season.

This. Don't get me wrong I think Teauge is a good WR, but talent wise Rogers is better and it's not even close IMO. I'm not saying he is going to make All-SEC as a freshmen or anything, but I think he will def have more and better statistics then Teague did last year who I believe just had 2 TD's.

I'm hoping to see him be an immediate contributor. Not a starter, but hopefully in the top 3-4 rotation. Something like 3-5 touches a game is at least what I'm hoping for.

Yeah I was thinking something like that except more to the liking of 5-8 touches. And I'm pretty sure he will be the 3rd reciever. I can't see them not having him on the field in 3WR sets

I guess I don't get this thread. I thought it would be about whether or not we expected Rogers to be on the team.

“He’s looking at it from the standpoint of whether they handled the situation how he expects them to handle it. He said his investigation will be based on his standards.”

Sounds good to me. That's exactly what I expect...now, let's see what those standards are. I actually think that, though it may hurt, Dooley may just handle this one well.

IMO, this will be the kind of situation that Dooley will earn the respect and trust of this football team.

I hope they are not getting charge with resisting arrest for running from the off duty cop in plain clothes that was drinking at BAR Knoxville.

It would be interesting to know if the cop had any alcohol in his system and how much, when he was taken to the hospital. If he did, it would probably get covered up anyways. But if that does come out, I'm not sure the KPD would have much ground to stand on.
