Hey look at this way. If we suck it up and lose to Carolina or another team we should beat, we can always just pluck a excuse from the pool of them that have been used against us. We can be tired one week, have the flu the next, etc,etc,etc..........

Every team loses players every year, it's part of the college game. I don't condone making a promise that we'll beat a particular team the next year, but that's Lane's style so get used to it. By the way you guys lose a lot on defense next year also.

your a little slow, since there were at least 50 websites stating that Al'Shawn was full speed last night at practice and he's fine.

lol......UT say they dont care if he played or not....BLAH BLAH BLAH...lol but you were all happy when at first he was sick, worried a little bit??

I'm not trying to flame but you guys may pile on. Didn't UT come off a bye week before playing us? If the roles had been reversed, your coach very well might have used the reason or excuse that his team was tired due to playing 8 straight weeks. Granted tthe outcome would've had to be a blow out possibly. As far as the USC receiver being sick, I have no clue. Just wanted to throw that out there that teams do get tired and I imagine Auburn will be throwing that one out there after they slide clean off the map to end the season(they play 11 consecutive weeks).

I hate to be the one to rain on your parade but, unlike previous years where we had the Great Pumpkin and 3rd and Chavis to fuel our nausea. We now have a staff that can actually makes changes during the game on either side of the ball. I want teams healthy that play us, no excuses, of course if you lose we will hear we have no bye week, if you win, we hear how great you are.
Bottomline: we are 3-4 and you are 6-2 and most are predicting a close game. To me that is funny but also points to a team that is beginning to find out what is does best and executes and plays very hard. Something this program has been without for the past 8 yrs.

Maybe so but it was poor taste and made him out to be a douche. Say they were tired in the press conference, not on national TV. It was just a play to discredit Tennessee's performance and it didn't work. Saban is Saban, good coach, not so great a guy.

You could have left off the "by your kicker" and still been correct. I still have trouble understanding how a fanbase of a 3-4 team is talking smack. Even if you guys get lucky and beat Carolina, you will be at .500. Keep it up and you could go to a moral bowl game.

When we have lost our coaches never went to the excuse well. They have called it like it was, poor execution of game plans at critical moments.

How so, he scored all 12 of your points. And IIRC, 2 of his FGs were from 45 and 50 yrds. Well let me put it this way, we lost because your FG kicker was better than ours. Your FG kicker was 4-4, ours was 1-4. Do the math.

Plain fact is, most Bammers thought you would win (34-6 or 27-10, or 38-3, all scores posted on your boards).

UT did everything it was not supposed to against Bama,(slow down Ingram, move the ball against Bama's D, hold Bama without a TD, and control the entire 2nd half on offense) except win the game. Kudos to Bama for winning the game. Shame some can't take that, and move on.

You're actually helping me make my point. You guys did all the right things and still came up short. Blame it on lack of talent or whatever. UT played one heck of a game, I never said anything different. As I have said on this very board, I understand what it is like to have the son of a great NFL coach on the sideline. But can you name the son of a coach who is as good as their fathers? Let's see:
Tommy/Terry Bowden-no
Jim Mora Jr.-no
Skip Holtz-no
Derek Dooley-no
Mike Shula-not just no but h**l no!
I also know what it is like to be halfway through a season already talking about how great next year will be. I have lived it! And I'm sure your current players will try and play even harder if they read or hear the comments about how bad they suck, and how much better UT will be when they are gone.

Monte is a great coach, and by my opinion, the best on this staff.

But he had nothing to do with Crompton having the best game a QB has had against Bama. Wasn't a great game, but he was successful enough to win the game.

Our first string has played well, we are behind in depth, compared to Bama, and others.

Now that's pretty creative and actually kinda funny. Just keep in mind South Carolina will ALWAYS be one step behind in football, basketball. They excel in baseball sometimes but seriously they are right there with Vandy in the overall scheme of athletics. Why do you think Haynesworth and all the other players leave South Carolina out of high school to go play in other states. Your Programs STINK!

Let's not forget preseason losses in Morely, one of our best defensive players, Coleman and Creer. I would say Warren, but he was a cancer.

Imagine how much better our defense would be with Morely still roaming around out there. I think Creer would have ended up making an impact as well.

I'm not sure i get your point. So you're saying since they won the game those excuses are ok? Seems to me nothing should have ever been said in the first place since they WON. Makes them look even worse.
