Ex VFL Arian Foster at it again

Should Foster lose his VFL status?

Donte Stallworth kills a dude and has gone on to become a media darling and has received several positive words on here by the men condemning Arian...

Arian speaks openly about a subject nearly every former college athlete takes very seriously, and will, ultimately, produce no serious damage to UT in the form of sanctions and some freak out...

I... just... don't... get... it

You don't have to like Arian's act, but the vitriol on here is just silly. Arian is a smart cat who is looking for reactions like this, and some of you are playing right in...

Those are two completely different scenarios.

Donté made a horrible mistake, but was (at least outwardly) very contrite and apologetic. He hasn't intentionally done anything to bring shame and ridicule to UT and has worked to rebuild his reputation.

Foster, on the other hand, hasn't been charged with a crime, but he continually runs his flapper about things that could sully the school's reputation and aren't about bettering his situation in some way. Things that regularly occur in CFB, but things that most who benefit from them are appreciative enough to keep their mouths shut.

Someone please make him stop! What an idiot!! :thud:

NFL star and former University of Tennessee running back Arian Foster reiterated his claim that he was illegally paid by boosters during his playing time in Knoxville during an interview on a radio show, this time saying that he accepted approximately $40,000 to $50,000 at UT from 2004-08.

"You have people help you out here and there," Foster said Thursday on the Dan LeBatard show. "Boosters and alumni and ex-players, they all know how it is, man. It's hard living check to check when you don't have enough money to go out to the movies or any kind of leisure activity. And you're not allowed to get a job. Especially when I was in college, they were a lot more stringent on those rules, so at any given chance I got the opportunity, I took a free handout. Absolutely."

...

Foster has claimed before that he was paid. In 2013, he was interviewed for a documentary called "Schooled: The Price of College Sports."

"I don't know if this will throw us into an NCAA investigation — my senior year, I was getting money on the side," Foster said then. "I really didn't have any money. I had to either pay the rent or buy some food. I remember the feeling of like, ‘Man, be careful.' But there's nothing wrong with it. And you're not going to convince me that there is something wrong with it. ... There were plenty of times where throughout the month I didn't have enough for food. Our stadium had like 107,000 seats; 107,000 people buying a ticket to come watch us play. It's tough just like knowing that, being aware of that."

Arian Foster says he accepted

Tennesseeduke

Time to excommunicate him??

I've stood up for him, but if he received roughly a grand a month under the table while receiving free room and board and he "went hungry" he has to be horrible at money management.

I hope they never invite or allow his sorry a@$ back in the city of Knoxville EVER. What kind of person does this to his Alma Mater. Peyton needs to go psycho on him.

The truth is they did pay Foster, but as soon as the money touched his hands he fumbled it and Penn State recovered it. That's why he was broke all 4 years, geez guys I thought everyone knew this.

He's bringing negative attention to 2004-2008, not 2015. Butch was the first guy to get him to even consider visiting UT again, and he did.

If that's the case, then Penn State shouldn't be ashamed in the least of the years that Jerry Sandusky coached. Not comparing Foster to that monster, but any recent news (no matter how long ago it happened) will still change opinions of a school.

I was told by Lamarcus Coker at a barber shop in Antioch that "Foster" was the reason that he got kicked off the team for smoking marijuana. He (Coker) stated that the last time he smoked was with him (Foster) and that is why they popped a random on him again. Foster went and told the rb coach at the time the very next day.

im not going to talk **** about a guy like an internet tough guy. so, ill let you guys do it. hes definitely not now and was never my favorite Vol. Wish him luck.

Always needing attention. He lost an average of a game a year with his untimely fumbles & I don't believe anything he says. I would say he's a narcissist & habitual liar.
Saying he lost multiple games is as laughable as knowing how to speak pterodactyl

Foster has proven he is a real ballplayer in the NFL. I think most Vol fans preferred Montario Hardesty who could not stay healthy but was not a game-wrecking fumble machine. Foster has always been an enigma and somewhat a figment of his own imagination but his work ethic and storming through the NFL like he has deserves respect. Someday he might get a mild concussion that knocks the goofiness out of him and he will be a squared away guy.
