Everything is setting up perfect against TAM

We are in the perfect setup going into our game against Texas A&M. If we upset them, this will be our signature win, and it will salvage our season. We could win this game against a solid TAMU team and we could lose out the rest of the way and we would still be fine as we would have our signature win. Here's why we are setup for a win...

-we are huge underdogs (TAMU is favored by 12)
-we play great and play motivated as huge underdogs
-there is no pressure on us (all the pressure is on TAMU)
-TAMU has never played at Neyland stadium
-if HB gets the start TAMU will not know what to expect
-CJP is familiar with Coach Fisher's offense and will have a defensive scheme

....if I were a betting man, I am taking Tennessee +12 points!! When we revisit this post on Sunday morning, my username will have been changed to The Prophet, lol!
Good thing you aren’t a betting man.

We don't avg 20 points a game on offense.

I'm just hoping that through all this that Pruitt and staff can hold the recruiting class together. We don't have much hope right now because it has become glaringly apparent that CJP is NOT a head coach. Good guy, great DC, but woefully inadequate as a head coach. And if we don't continue recruiting well, there is even LESS hope.

What I want to see against A&M is (1) some CONSISTENCY in the offense, meaning NOT folding the tent in the third quarter (2) offensive creativity to the point to keep the opposing defense a little off balance and NOT telegraphing our plays based on formation(s) (even Jordan Rogers brought this up), (3) pressure on their QB Mond! (4) a GOOD 3rd quarter. We've been outscored in the the third quarter sixty something to seven! Ridiculous and (5) some FIRE! Arkansas basically out-toughed us. We dominated the first half, but in the 2nd half we showed NO toughness or grit. We haven't in MANY years.

Yeah...we will probably get dirtnapped by a couple 3 touchdowns....

I have a slightly different take than what everyone else seems to think though....

Next season, SEC defenses will be SEC defenses again. They simply had almost zero practice time in spring or fall...defense takes a lot more practice, discipline, and recognition to play well...especially the complex schemes run by Pruitt and all the other SEC coaches who run variations of the same thing....dont believe me? Watch the tape from Pruitts clinics for HS coaches. The entire SEC plays a base cover 2 most of the time, from 3-4, 4-3, or nickel. There are about a dozen different variations Pruitt calls and the responsibilities for each LB and DB change according to which one we are in. These all then change AGAIN according to what formation the offense comes to the line with. Its a great deal of info to learn...and these guys usually aren't Rhodes Scholars...they are extremely talented athletes. Takes mucho practice to even have a good chance of guys being where they are supposed to be and doing what they are supposed to do...

Defenses are at a huge disadvantage this season...and if 1 man is out of place, a good QB is gonna take advantage every time. Just because Saban finally wised up and went to the spread offense like everyone used against him, doesn't mean the SEC is now the BIG12 and we can't play defense anymore. There will always be a couple great offenses in the SEC every year, but I expect scoring overall will go down dramatically next season...as in seasons past.

Don't. Just stop it. There is no salvaging this season. Any "signature" win, which is very unlikely by the way, would be wasted and just further illustrate the incompetency of this staff by showing us what could have been with proper management.

Quit trying to inject positivity into a garbage situation. It makes us all as Vol fans look silly.

A&M can and will score a good amount of points. Tennessee cant. Not a good matchup. A better match up would have been Miss state. Their offense sucks too.

They'll 'sneak up' on A&M like a possum or armadillo 'sneaks up' on an 18-wheeler rolling down the highway. Sure, the Vols might dart out in front and surprise the Aggies for a second (ok, maybe not in terms of points on the board), but ultimately the team in orange will end up flat and stinking up the area (if past performance this season is any indication).

Yes, absolutely, everything is moving in our favor...

Aggies pause practices, Tennessee-Texas A&M game uncertain

Assuming OP isn’t a troll, this is generally why we are laughed at as a fan base.

I love your passion and optimism but I don’t expect it. I’m going to watch, hope and pray all the same

We win with the element of surprise. Surprised we get a first down, surprised we score, surprised we don’t get blown out. Good grief!

I think the OP is right. This could be closer than expected. Pruitt's familiarity could be big. Pittman knows Chaney well and that probably helped Arkansas on defensive adjustments. Also, it's a bigger game to Arkansas when they play UT.

You would expect UT to beat the Kansas City Chiefs.
no sir. I expect to beat the before mentioned teams 9 out of 10 years, with vandy and UK 29 out of 30. I expect 2 out of 3 with UGA, every other year with UF and every other year with Bama
