Remember that at this point whoever we hire as a coach will command a HUGE buyout. The actions taken have given every coach out there leverage on that and the more people say no them more leverage the next guy in line has.

We are our own worst enemies. Sometimes guys, the best thing to say is nothing.

It's the admin's responsibility to appease, and manage the fan base. They willingly ignored the fan base for their own decisions. It was their decisions that made this happen. Period.

It is amazing the AD had not even spoke with Sumlin or Miles until today....Not a way to run a program.....Although I was not wild about the process of stopping Schiano, it worked, so well played guys.

Les Miles wouldn't require a "huge buyout"
K. Sumlin wouldn't require a "huge buyout"
Jimbo wouldn't require a "huge buyout"

Yeah, they would.

It’s a price Tennessee fans may or may not willing to pay, that’s another debate.

However, Tennessee is going to overpay on this hire.

You’d have to be a moron to take a job that clearly the administration doesn’t want you to have or the fan base doesn’t want you to have.

It’s not even arguable.

It’s like the Seinfeld episode where George Costanza claims he figured out a way to trade for Bonds and Griffey and they wouldn’t even have to give up that much.

The new coach is going to want protection in the contract

Bottom line: Schiano as our HC is a self imposed death penalty. Book it.

Period. End. Of. Story.

The only thing toxic about UT is the Haslam influence. Get your sh** straight. The fan base has every right to be this damn pissed.

The fanbase is just fine. It's the Haslams and Administration that's the problem.

I was turning in the old fan card if we hired Schiano so I'll roll the dice and hopefully get to see Currie's head roll.

This is how rapists and other criminals get away with their crimes.

Sometimes you have to take a stand and deal with the consequences. Sunday was one of those situations.

Make the right hire and your buyout concerns are a non factor. This is NOT the fans fault people. If the administration would get their heads out of the collective a$$es this wouldn't have been an issue anyway.

We’ve been irrelevant for 10 years. I’ve been a Vol fan for 55 years and I am freaking sick of mediocrity. We sucked big time this year and it is damn time to end this bullsh*t.

What the hell is wrong here?????

We've saved this incompetent AD from making 2 hires that would have rendered Neyland half empty and killed the businesses in Knoxville that depend on gamedays. I'll be expecting a thank you letter in the mail. But by all means OP, if you wanna eat the slop this administration wants to give you, eat away.

The best thing is to say nothing??? That’s the most ridiculous garbage I’ve heard!!! So your theory is “just be a door mat.” Uhhhh.... no. Enough is enough of this garbage! Honestly if these morons who know nothing of athletics continue to make piss poor decisions for our athletic department, they need to be called on it... & honestly, I wouldn’t want a coach that don’t have thick enough skin to just take what happened Sunday & say it was what it was. The problem lies in the inaccurate slant the media has put on what happened in saying “there’s no way that fan base was gonna be happy about anyone other than Gruden.” That’s simply not true, we are just simply refusing to accept yet another garbage hire by a completely inept administration! That’s the fact!

Schiano is a bully, if you give two squirts of piss about the program and the players you wouldn't want him, penn state stuff aside. He's a jerk and it's been verified multiple times.
