Remember that at this point whoever we hire as a coach will command a HUGE buyout. The actions taken have given every coach out there leverage on that and the more people say no them more leverage the next guy in line has.

We’re also the reason that buffoon Schiano isn’t our head coach right now. You’re welcome.

I don't know what you consider a huge buyout but nobody with a successful track record is taking an SEC job without a substantial buyout.

Les Miles wouldn't require a "huge buyout"
K. Sumlin wouldn't require a "huge buyout"
Jimbo wouldn't require a "huge buyout"

Sunday overall was not a good day because we officially found out that the AD was not serious about winning or making Tennessee great again...that was a sad realization... But what we did to the Schiano deal was the best possible outcome, given the circumstances.

If not for this "toxic fanbase" you would be welcoming Coach Schiano right now. You're welcome.

I couldn't disagree more. We are in this position, because the fanbase hasn't said enough. We haven't done a good enough job making the decision makers accountable to us, instead of the whims of Jimmy Haslam.

Derek Dooley.
Butch Jones.
Greg Schiano.

Really? This school deserves so much better.

Florida fans were HAMMERED by the national media for setting up fireronzook.com when they hired Zook. You know what? The fans were absolutely right and the next time around, the Florida went out and hired Urban Meyer.

The fanbase is not toxic it is passionate. The right coach will see that and turn it into his advantage. The guys that turned us down are chicken **** and don't realize what we have here. We are not the enemy.

We should take a poll asking if this is the worst post of the entire coaching "search".

"the best thing to say is nothing" Are you quoting Tom Bradley or Greg Schiano when they were hanging out drinking beers at good ole PSU.

Right now Greg Schiano could be our head coach but the fan base, no excuse me, the CUSTOMER base said **** no!!! This is capitalism at its finest and if you don’t like it piss off

OK, we should just take it lying down. Most of us aren't wired that way. I guess this is a back door way of endorsing Schiano. Sounds like it.

I was proud of the fan base Sunday and still am. We blocked a bad fit from being hired here. Will that spook some good coaches away from considering Tennessee? Probably. I think it spooked away Doeren but those coaches wouldn't make it here anyway. We need somebody who the fan base will embrace and someone who can handle the demands of the job. No more thin skinned coaches like Butch.

You don't even know what the facts are. Two Coaches we could hire available right now with $0 buyouts are better than Schiano by any standard. We hadn't even called either until today.

Les Miles, National Championship Winner, Has Beaten Saban.
Kevin Sumlin, Beat Saban Twice

You are correct in thought its execution that failed. there are ways to do this and express that without making an arse of yourself.

Sunday was the equivalent of JJ's twitter rant. I get what the guy meant and don't think him a primadonna but he did it wrong. So he is gone, for now. I blame this all on the man at 1600 Pennsylvania

Yes he would. Currie has no leverage in this negotiation. If it came down to Kiffin he would know he is the last ditch effort and holding a full house to Curries pair of 2a.

Absolutely, if the flyover states had not been fed up with total corruption and just did as the media told them we would not be in this mess at UT. (blue font)
