Everybody needs to exercise some patience. I think this team will continually to marginally improve each week. Here are some thoughts about the game and why we need to just trust Lane.

1.) Crompton.-- This has been discussed ad nauseam; however, it is certainly fair to point out that when he is your best qb, it is like tying a hand around Kiffin's back. You think Malzahn could have moved the ball with Crompton? I don't.

2.) Zero depth-- This team has absolutely no depth. This is obvious on the offensive line where we have two walk-ons playing. I admire the Sullins brothers, but realistically, they are not SEC caliber players and are severely undersized.

3.) We are not being outcoached-- Those that think this don't know football or are just too emotional to be objective after football games. I think we are doing the best we can with what we have. There was nothing in that game that led me to think that we were being outcoached.

4.) We will go to a bowl game-- I think we can get UGA next week because it is obvious after seeing Auburn and watching UGA a couple times this year that Auburn is better. AU's offense is much superior to UGA's and the two defenses are about even.

5.) Crapton's marginal improvement-- the second half Crompton actually looked alot better. If he had played half that well in the first half, we win the game.

6.) Hopefully Vlad will be back-- it will give us much needed depth, and our best run blocker would be back.

Guys, stay on board with this staff. We're not getting outcoached. I think most competent fans realize this. Let's go get the Dawgs. Go Vols!!

If we Take away Green and find some type of rhythm at QB then maybe we beat UGA...

So what will our record be since we are headed to a bowl.. Not be smart..I'm trying to figure how we are going to make it to 6 wins..GU would be a great place to start though..

I think we will beat UGA or USC; and then we will beat Memphis, UK, and Vandy. 6-6.

one more glaring problem is that our kickoffs are really bad. we kick the ball to the 10yrd line. they are running to the 30-35 consistently. on auburn's last score, if we kick the ball in the in the enzone, they start from the 20, but they ran it from the 10 to past the 40. a couple of plays and they're in field goal range.

with that, the missed extra point and field goal, that a 7 point swing to our favor.

Very true. I neglected to leave that in my little writeup, but it is obvious that Cunningham simply can't effectively kick off. I think his line drives to the 15 are killing our coverage team.

It going to take some time. I personally like seeing us rebuild. We need a maximum overhaul. I think some fans get antsy, but in the end we all know realistically it is going to be slow and steady progress..

As a BAMA fan who completely understands your situation, I think your staff is working hard to turn things around. I'm no Kiffin fan, but what he has done in recruiting is very impressive.

It will take time, but I think the players and staff need the support of the UT fans. I'm sure human nature makes it very difficult for them to not visit sites like this to see what is being said about them. People expect negative remarks from rivals, but I'm sure coming from their own can have an adverse effect.

To be honest, I have been amazed at some of the classless remarks made by some UT fans about their own players. I understand the frustration, but some crossed the line.

Want to know why so many trolls from rival fans? The division of UT fans is very entertaining to rivals. I rarely post (I always try to be very respectful when I do), but I visit often. I know a lot of rival fans that do the same.

Well if we lose to USC 2 years in a row that would certainly feel like rock bottom.

May as well resign your selves to looking at this season as a rebuilding year. I've watched every SEC team play this year and I've haven't seen one that we can beat with the exception of KY who consistently beat themselves.

Looking at the new recruits we've acquired, better days are ahead.

We can beat any of them with the exceptions of UF and Bama. Will we or would we be favored, not in most of them. Not like Auburn blew our doors off. This coaching staff will keep us in all the games except perhaps Bama. We will play competitive games with the rest and have the ability to win.

Two losses will feel like rock bottom but I think four will be the bottom for you. Kiffin will be old news.:dance2:
I'll remind you that you posted that in a couple of weeks when Vandy runs their streak to 3 in a row against you guys.

Oh no. Now he's gonna talk smack if they stumble ass backward into a W over Vandy.

Because of fulmer's terrible recruiting, kiffin has a bare cupboard. It will take years to rebuild the roster to match bama and florida's talent.

Before the season, it was unrealistic to believe this team would beat UF/Bama/and maybe Ole Miss. Most thought a 7 or 8 win season was realistic, and very possible. We got all we could get out of the UF game. And left much to be desired out of our other 2 loses.
To win 7, we have to take 2 out of 3 against UGA/USCjr./Ole Miss. Which is still possible.

I want to see this team take steps. It has a low ceiling due to talent, no one should deny that. But never the less, this team should improve as the season goes along. This staff has changed the program for the good, in many ways. You hope to see that result in winning games that we should, and maybe sneaking one out that we shouldn't.

I'd consider it a great season towards getting us back on track, if that happened.

At the end of the year, I want to feel like this team got better, and got all it could. Talented or not. This staff is capable of coaching this team up, to beat UCLA/AU/UGA, and maybe even Ole Miss at this point.

Just got to wait and see if that happens.

Player development was worse than I imagined. I think that they were just further behind in that regard as well. We all knew the talent gap problem, I just thought they'd be able to teach these guys to catch the ball and such, but I'm sure they're also having to break bad habits as well. New recruits will be easier to work with, beyond their improvements in talent.
