Then why did Ambles openly state that UT fans bashing him bothered him? Whether it's subtle racism or just flat out mean spirited BS why do it and risk losing a major talent?

Keep this in mind, Charlie Strong was turned down for multiple jobs and he felt it was due to racism about his wife being white. Many in the black community are more in tune with seeing racism in it's subtle forms.

I'm a white guy but I grew up around enough racism to know how to recognize it. When you are attacking a kid for his vernacular, while at the same time talking like a country bumpkin then chances are you might be a racist. Damn, did I just creat a new Jeff Foxworthy joke?

Nobody shall be criticized. No score shall be kept. Participation ribbons will be given out after 60 minutes and all participants will told they are wonderful.

Not saying that. Criticism of performance is perfectly valid. Personal attacks would make anybody reconsider going to a school, especially if it was very public that the last QB at said school received death threats.

How many times in the past year have we seen message boards linked to media articles? Do we really want institutions like the NYT making personal attacks on message boards into front page news? You're crazy if you think they wouldn't do it....

IMO Ambles is the best WR in the 2010 class, we need him.

I hate when people bash a recruit just because they are looking at another school. I know FL pulled his scolly but the guy could basically go to any school he wants with one phone call. Our coach left and he is still giving us a look and IMO has us out front still or at least 50/50. That says a lot about him.

The entire point of the thread that you are participating in is to call out all the people attacking him rather than have my post buried in one of several threads where he is being attacked.

Why are you participating in a conversation in a thread that you don't agree with and then telling me to take my point elsewhere? How about you GTFO?

The fact is that Freak and the Mods should make it a point to prevent personal attacks on recruits. They don't allow posters to attack each other so why allow it to happen to recruits?

I say we leave the kid alone on this Heather thing. I dont want anybody in here who is just going to bring trouble, but geez people, he hit on a female. Boys will be boys. As far as I know he hasnt been a trouble maker, and from what I saw on the AA game, he puts out on the field big time. This aint TO here people. This guys plays his guts out. Welcome the boy home.

Whether some on here want to admit it or not, Ambles along with most recruits do get on these message boards and read what the fans are saying about them. All the criticizing sometimes will end up having a negative effect on our recruiting efforts. We can only hope that most of these kids realize that there are idiots in every fanbase that are making negative remarks just in case they do sign with another team. That way they can be the new (insert the name of any idiot reporter out there) who was bashing him before he left and can say I told you so. They just won't be smart enough to realize it was their fault he didn't come here. These same people who get on here and make negative remarks will be the same ones cheering this kid on after he signs with us on NSD and will continue cheering him on for the next three years until he goes pro.

AGREE !!! The staff and our head coach knows what they are doing. Support them and the kids that sign with the VOLS !!!! If a kid wants to sign somewhere else then that is his decision and he shouldn't be bashed on here.. It's was his decision just decisions that we make.
