Everett Withers for DC, if we don't get STEELE

Though I would be happy if we got Steele, I really think the staff should look at Withers from NC. I think he is going to be the next up and coming DC. He could very well be the next Smart or Muschamp in a few years with the right program. I think we should snag this guy before he becomes a hot commodity. With NC pathetic Offensive I'm just amazed at how well he was able to keep the D pounding out game after game. This would be a diamond in the rough hire.

Well I guess it's time, before Alabama, Florida, or Georgia gets him next year.

dang, if that report is true, Steele can surely thank us for the fat raise he got...it had to be substantial for him to consider staying at Clemson

Bill is right. Jimmy Sexton is not a good person.

As a fan of MH I am sick of him getting used like a kleenex by Jimmy.

If you want to see the other "candidates" we will have to go through before we hire a DC, just look at the ARM roster...

Bring Williams! He's got a solid resume. But, don't get rid of Willie Mack.
I also am not opposed to CLT as our DC. I have a feeling he may get poached in the next year or two as an assistant here.

Steele would rather stay in the ACC. Who can blame him? Other than GT and VT, it's a cakewalk.

Lance Thompson should be named DC and let's move on.

I wouldn't mind if we got Rob Vanderlinden from Penn State it would be a step up for DC but the time might be right. They've always had a strong line.

I don't know that much about him, but if so, I say bring his DL coach (Blake...very well respected and great recruiter) with him. They've tried to take advantage to the maelstrom here this past week, and trying to clean the carcass like the buzzards they are. Including Willis and now Ambles.

It would be my pleasure to turn the tables and pick clean their coaching staff of who we want...except Davis, that sorry SOB. In fact..even without Withers....I say throw the bank at Blake just to spite those bastages, and get the DL coach we still need

I think you're right on this one...except I thought Bumpas was to be interviewed yesterday. Wonder if we turned him down or the reverse.

Lance was a DC at UCF, and they did well there...winning a conference title during his 3 yrs there...so, it's not a stretch...not to mention how long he's been a DL or LB coach under Saban, and then Monte last year. I think Mike Hamilton may be advocating (not demanding but suggesting) for CDD to make some splash hires on his staff for the sake of saving the recruiting class, as well as the fact that it seemed to be a good model that was only adopted last year (hire an affordable HC and throw the saved cash at the rest of the staff).

I would like to see CDD not give up on Steele, just like Sweeney didn't, even after it looked like a done deal.

I don't know a lot about it, but have we even considered Garner and CLT together. If not, why?
