Seems he is all they want to talk about on their message boards! Our coach- one would think they are a wee bit jealous. :wink:

I understand why Kentucky fans resent our success in basketball. Basketball is a source of state pride in Kentucky and has been for 60 years, it is more than just a passion but a part of their cultural identity. The more they are reminded of how we have become a legitimate competitor, the more they pine for the good ole days when there was no competition in the SEC. We are a Johnny come lately with a charismatic coach who is bound to be a lightning rod for this resentment. The truth is Bruce hasn't disrespected UK in any way (unless you want to be really petty and talk about the Orange blazer). They just feel insulted to share any stage with us.

UK would love to have Pearl instead of Gillispie, who will not be winning any titles for them.

Let Bruce have his moment. Deep down he is fearful as hell at what lies ahead. The return of Kentucky back to national domination and the fact that he realizes that without Lofton in the mix, his team ain't sh*t. He better hope like hell that he gets Hopson for next year because if he comes to UK, the Cats run away with the SEC.

You sir, are a moron.Coach Pearl came here 3 years ago to a woeful program and now has the team not only #1 in the nation this season but getting ready to be a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament. Do you really think the man is afraid of anything?

but on a more serious note.
i go to cat's pause every day and read the most ridiculous stuff.
last week there was a thread about how it was stupid that tyler was granted eligibility and pretty much dissed his relationship with his dad.
pretty sad, sick, and disturbing that someone can sink so low.

Kentucky fans are in fact obsessed with Bruce. That just means he is doing his job. They were obessed with Ray Mears too.

When you beat them a few times, and threaten what they feel is their birthright (as often as they have won the SEC they should expect to win it nearly every year) they stand up an take notice.

Because of their inherent bias, what they fail to realize is that Bruce Pearl is not a fluke or a one trick pony. Hence their obsession with him going to coach elsewhere.

If Bruce sticks around he will be a constant thorn in their side.

Well put Lex! The fact is alot of SEC fans and there Coaches don't like CBP because he makes the rest look dull in comparison. Also, we wouldn't even have this thread if CBP wasn't regularly kicking other SEC teams butts! :rock::rock::rock:

I have gone onto wildcatnation some and they are obsessed there as well. Not nearly as bad as catspause :sick:, but obsessed nonetheless. Some do give him credit, but most are pretty jealous, given the comments.

They are also a little touchy when bringing up "Blueblood" history lesson. My post was deleted as an attack post. I guess, as usual, they do not prefer to look at the facts.

The cats fear and they should, Pear will make the changes for the loss of Lofton and we will run away with another SEC.

hotrod needs to shut his mouth and quit talkin bout our coach, gillispies personal life is his personal life and nobody elses. and sure brcue pearl is a great coach but we're happy with billy g. and you cant really talk about us not winning titles when last time i checked we have 7 national championships, 25 sec tournament championships, and 45 sec regular season championships. so just because tennessee has been good the last 3 years dont mean nothin til u win a championship. (no disrespect to vols fans just the ones that are trying to say kentucky is garbage)
