I thought the Chip Kelly deal was idiotic before this game, now I'm praying that it happens. I gave ***** Jones a pass after OK, but I'm done after this bull ****.

Tough loss, but nothing like Oklahoma. We had some many chances to close the game, but we just could not execute, regardless of the play called or defensive scheme.

Now, it is an 8-4 season, rather than the hopeful 9-3 or 10-2 wishlist. In fact, this is were the majority of this board had its season predictions.

I saw Butch with his go for 1 finger. What is he doing? This is inexcusable. Butch, I cannot hear you say another word. I'm done. Beat Bama and GA, then I'll listen. Otherwise GTFO. I went through Kiffen Dooley, and now I have to put up with your crap simply cause I once went through Kiffen and Dooley? No, it doesn't work that way. This is TN.

Most of us predicted an 8-4 season anyway. Gonna be a tough year if we cant do better than this however.

I think Jones pays people to come in here and say this stuff after a loss.

I'm beginning to think Butch is paid to make idiot calls and loose. He has already signed the contract.

We'll be lucky to be 6 & 6 with Jones and Debord.

Can someone summarize what they said/are saying?

Part of it was tearing down the conservative play calls by the defense. He said if the roles were reversed you can bet your bottom dollar that Florids would have brought pressure and forces us to make a play instead of sit back in a zone and give the QB all day to find the open man

Then he ripped the staff on the offense calls -- always doing the same thing and getting the same results. "It is time to try something different"

He said that just running to zone one and then zone Two is not going to win games. Being aggressive does not mean you have to throw downfield on a go pattern late, but you can throw safe routes

Except one had mid-conference talent and one had top 10 facilities and coached and sec team.

Dooley would have blown this Florida team away with the exact same talent Butch has right now. Dooley's problem was all on defensive side - recruited wrong coaches and did not spend any energy recruiting good enough players to play in SEC on defensive side of the ball. But Dooley's offensive staff was NFL caliber (including Dooley himself when it comes to X's and O's).

I don't think Cheney got enough credit.

Did anyone ever answer the question about 'why decline all those penalties?' I've been asking since the OU game and still can't figure it out. Especially when you get a penalty that will back them up closer to their own goal line?

Anyone?

I've been listening and all of them are calling him out. I think they are just as frustrated and to have to go on the air hours after that game, it would be hard to hide your true feelings

I can see reason behind that. Probably thought defense would be on the field a ton BC offense couldn't stay on the field, so he traded an additional down for 5 yards. Wanted the D to play the least amount of snaps possible

Edit: not going for 2 was unforgivable tho
