You can infer all day long. It still doesn't make it right.

ETA: Just looking at your chart, 50% was the highest point it ever hit. And averaged in the 40s and 30s. That's just one source. Got anything else that might help you that I can giggle at?

When it was at 50% there was another 9-10 who were undecided. So yes, the majority of
people did approve at that point.

Maybe you mean there were more who approved than disapproved?

If Tennessee finished 6-5-1 would you conclude they won the majority of their games?

Of the ten percent who didn't respond, chances are good some of the would have said yes or later agreed.

So yeah, I'd say it's fair to call that the majority. If nothing else we can all agree the majority of people who responded were in favor.

The trouble is, early polls are unreliable. No one except Gruber knew what was in the bill. You could get half the people to like anything if you ask the question the right way.

even among the uninsured, the highest approval the ACA could muster was 57% back in July of 2010. It's barely half that number now.

"As you may know, a health reform bill was signed into law in 2010. Given what you know about the health reform law, do you have a generally favorable or generally unfavorable opinion of it?"

The question itself is a lie. It isn't a "health reform bill/law" it's a health insurance reform bill/law.
