Even More Obamacare Follies

A coworker of mine has insurance for him, his wife, and his daughter for $381.00 per month. It is for catastrophic coverage. High deductible for doc visits and the works. It was not ACA compliant. The same plan after becoming ACA compliant is $1,520.00 per month for him. His deductible is twice as high as it was before. He is no longer a registered Democrat.

Your friend needs to shop around.

That is a little over $600 more per month than our premium and we are both old, in our 60's.

Walgreens and CVS seem to bilk ins companies on drug prices - I hope some class action scumbag lawyer sues the crooks - anyone know such a lawyer that might pursue it ?

Got some decent news about our insurance. My wife would be able to carry both of us and our daughter for 103 per pay period with a 1000 deductible.

I pay 68 per for just myself right now. Don't have my new options yet, but it's looking like this will be the cheapest way.

still high IMO mine is 54 for the same overage and the company I work for is tight

We're in Georgia. There aren't any better options for him. He is in his 50's and doesn't qualify for any subsidies. For that amount of money, he might be better off just to self insure and take the penalty and pray to God that he doesn't get cancer or some other catastrophic occurence.

Over 214,000 doctors won't participate in the new plans under the Affordable Care Act (ACA,) analysis of a new survey by Medical Group Management Association shows. That number of 214,524, estimated by American Action Forum, is through May 2014, but appears to be growing due to plans that force doctors to take on burdensome costs. It's also about a quarter of the total number of 893,851 active professional physicians reported by the Kaiser Family Foundation.

Americans wanted European style socialized medicine and now we have it. People were warned and the warnings were ignored. Well, as Toyota used to say...you asked for it, you got it.

premiums skyrocket

"The eye-popping increases among younger insurance buyers could be a problem for Obamacare’s long-term solvency given that young people need to enroll to offset the higher costs associated with older policyholders.

“Obviously they’re very important, and as much as they’re healthier, they tend to use health care less, so you want to try and have as many of those people enrolled as possible. And the cost for them went up very [steeply],” Mr. Coleman said.

I can't understand why young healthy people are so disgruntled about paying for everyone's healthcare & their own that they won't use.

Dumbass ****ers thought it was going to be free..😜

I don't know what to do 69. I am really in a bind. I just checked and Walgreen's informed me my Obamacare will no longer pay for my Viagra. It is Thursday night and Granny is always hot to trot on Thursday evenings. I cann't keep up with her without my meds. What shall I do? I am use to you paying for them, if I have to use my own money to buy them it would be like I was having to pay Granny for sex.

If obamacare pays for Viagra that's reason enough to repeal.

I'm sure it wouldn't be the first time you paid her.

Do you give her a bonus for removing her teeth?

Would literally overnight render millions of people uninsured, and unable to find alternatives. Those of us who are insured directly through the marketplace can expect double digit increases in our own premiums, to help providers offset the cost of uninsured care.

Obamacare should be taken apart piece by piece. Every veto could be overriden.
