Even More Obamacare Follies

Criminal Fraud? Former Republican state Rep. Patrick Sheehan told the KATU investigators he went to the FBI in December 2012 with allegations that Cover Oregon project managers initiated the design of dummy web pages to convince the federal government the project was further along than it actually was. If Sheehan's allegations are true, those managers could face time in jail for fraud.

After months of abject failure, and serious evidence of criminal fraud, and hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars flushed away, the state of Oregon will announce that it is abandoning it's exchange in favor of of the federal Healthcare.gov platform. Oregon's website was suppose to be ready for the open enrollment period back on October 1,2013. It never launched and now it never will. Oregon is controlled by pro-Obamacare Democrats. This is every embarrassing to the Dems that are in control of the State of Oregon & another big blot on Obama & his administration.

Maryland pissed away a small fortune on their own exchange and had to abandon at the final hour. I'm sure it will be promotions all the way around!

Maryland has been ruined by its voters.

And of course the other countries compared all have universal healthcare. There are a lot more factors to consider, but as far as ridiculous cost of care, there's no argument. Single-payer would reduce prices.

Small price to pay to keep the government out of my life

Of course it does. But by what mechanism? Price controls established and enforced by the federal government. All providers make less on medicare pts than others. The government set the reimbursements for all codes. The provider is compelled to accept it as payment in full.

Single payer only sounds like a good idea to the naive.

Ah, jeez. Forgot to consult the nation's leading economist DC_Vol. I'm glad you have all the answers, but unless you're willing to share them instead of providing silly little insults, we'll keep fumbling through this whole healthcare thing blindly.

If you ask me, what's truly naive is assuming something won't work, when it's been successful in nearly every nation it's been implemented in, and instead sticking with a system that has produced some of the most costly healthcare in the world.

Single payer stifles innovation, research and development, it will lead to less quality healthcare. Why you ask? It takes the money out.

how do you define success?

that's completely dependent on who is defining the word "works" isn't it?

Like when my friend in Canada and I both tore our knees up around the same time. Sure, both of us got fixed but I was fully rehabbed and released by the time he finally got to his scheduled mri. By definition both could be described as working but we aren't really using the same goalposts to keep score

FWIW, with no particular axe to grind here, my personal experience....

I work for a really big government contractor that generally has a great benefit package. We are going through open enrollment right now. Too keep the same family coverage, my premium doubled and and deductible increased around 50%. In my 12 years industry experience, this is easily the largest jump in cost for me.

I have to believe this is because of the ACA. It's the only thing that is different from previous years.

Tell them you're gonna delay those changes.

Campfield's confirmation of Godwin's Law prompted state GOP Chairman Chris Devaney to demand he apologize.

"While Stacey Campfield routinely makes remarks that are over the top, today's comments are ignorant and repugnant," he responded in an official statement emailed to reporters this morning. "No political or policy disagreement should ever be compared to the suffering endured by an entire generation of people. Those comments have no place in our public discourse. He should offer an apology to members of the Jewish faith immediately."

lest somebody who doesn't bother to click on the link think that the TN GOP is of the same demented mindset as Campfield

Campfield is the exception but unfortunately since hes the loudest one, outsiders looking in only see him
