Even More Obamacare Follies

got an email from our benefits dept that basically said everything you pay for is going to be more expensive (rates, deductibles and out of pocket). Woohoo

That's what happened with my employer's insurance.

The coverage offered before fell into what ACA considers a cadillac plan. So to avoid having to a massive excise taxes, our health coverage is getting worse. They're still having to pay millions in new fees regardless

here's the relevant part

Medical Plan

  • There are rate increases for all medical plans. Please refer to your brochure for the 2014 rates.
  • Deductibles are increasing for the PPO 10, PPO 20 and Remote Area Only plan, and the PPO 50 Plan now has a deductible. However, the increases can be offset with the annual checkup incentive.
  • The Out-of-Pocket maximum has increased for all medical plans. The deductible amount is now included in the Out-of-Pocket maximum.
  • All associates will receive new medical ID cards.

Woman just fainted during 0s presser because she got the letter saying her plan was being canceled and the alternative is twice as expensive and has a deductible 3x higher

0 just told everyone they can call a 1800 number to enroll since the website is down. When you call the number, it prompts you to go online.

Disaster

If the media had actually done their jobs and thoroughly researched this guy, there's no way he would have become president. He is pathetic in every sense of the word.

The Affordable Care Act is supposed to help alleviate pressure on crowded emergency departments by giving people better access to preventative care and their regular doctors. That may not be the case.

In our 5 EYEWITNESS News series, "ER Emergency," we explain how the Affordable Care Act could impact already busy emergency departments. Our series also investigates a national and statewide shortage of doctors.

Hospitals Brace for More ER Visits Due to Health Care Reform | KSTP TV - Minneapolis and St. Paul

But, I thought that one of the selling points of ACA was the people wouldn’t have to go the ER anymore for routine health care.

Millions of Americans Are Losing Their Health Plans Because of Obamacare | The Weekly Standard

According to health policy expert Bob Laszewski, roughly 16 million Americans will lose their current plans because of Obamacare:

Kaiser Health News called up a few insurers around the country and found that hundreds of thousands of Americans have already received cancellation notices.

"Florida Blue, for example, is terminating about 300,000 policies, about 80 percent of its individual policies in the state. Kaiser Permanente in California has sent notices to 160,000 people – about half of its individual business in the state. Insurer Highmark in Pittsburgh is dropping about 20 percent of its individual market customers, while Independence Blue Cross, the major insurer in Philadelphia, is dropping about 45 percent," Kaiser reports. "Blue Shield of California sent roughly 119,000 cancellation notices out in mid-September, about 60 percent of its individual business. About two-thirds of those policyholders will see rate increases in their new policies, said spokesman Steve Shivinsky."

ObamaCare is just one big folly. There should be a thread dedicated to "Even More Obamacare Successes". Would use a lot less of Freak's bandwidth.

why the fundraising effort and sales tactics for such a wonderful idea that should sell itself?

“The other side has already spent a whopping $400 million in anti-Obamacare TV ads,” the fundraiser site notes. “We don’t have to beat that, but we need to have the resources to fight back. Make a donation to support OFA today.”
