Time to turn the page. Hope Barnes has his best coaching year this year. Gonna be interesting, for sure. On one hand, there'll be lowered expectations, but on other hand, elevated expectations come with the territory of being a top 5 paid coach not taking as long to re-load.

Given who we have coming back and in as freshmen, this position doesn’t hurt as much as losing Williams. We should be fine at guard. Forward and Center (even more) are going to be huge question marks.

I always thought Bone mad it clear he was gone.
He left himself some outs in his announcement when he declared, but it seemed he was intent on staying, it has been rumored that was his plan, and now Evan Daniels and Barnes himself have indicated that is the plan.

Once he tested with Derrick Rose / Russell Westbrook athletic comps, he was gone. I think unlike Grant he actually could have benefited draft wise from coming back, but totally understand why he would want to stay in the process and see if he can crack into the back end of the first round.

Good luck to him!

And yet his draft stock isn’t exactly skyrocketing.

It's a lot better than it was. He is in the late 2nd round discussion now where before he may not have even been a top 100 prospect. I still think it's a long shot that he is on an NBA roster next year.
Loved Bone but just didn’t seem his play matched the numbers he put up at combine. Would love to see what he could do with one more year. Unfortunate that he doesn’t see another year under Barnes as having the value to propel him into the first round.

Ha-ha, had to take a shot at Barnes. Bone just didn't want to go to school any more, imo and was going no matter what, including playing overseas. I think a team takes Bone very late in the 2nd round, tho.

What, you don’t think another year under Barnes would improve his stock?
It’s obvious Bone doesn’t think so. You agree with Bone?

I agree with Bone. This is a weak draft. Next year's freshman class is very strong at PG compared to this one, especially at the top in terms of how they are viewed as HS prospects.

The NBA draft doesn't work like the NFL draft. I have no doubt that Bone could come back and be a better player than he is now, but that doesn't mean he will be a more desirable draft prospect. The NBA draft is much more based on potential than actual production, especially in round 1. For Bone to be a first rounder next season he would have to be in the National Player of the Year conversation.

...or possibly Bone has money problems, pretty sure he has a very young daughter and/or just doesn't like school. I have no idea the reason, but he obviously had his mind made up and Barnes had very little to do with it. Oh yeah, I almost forgot the obligatory, imo

No matter what round he go in, there will be a big, big pay check. If it was only $1,000,000 he would be set for life if he has any head at on him. His check will be much more than that though.
