I know this has come up a gazillion times but... Since he is so dangerous with the ball in his hands why not run some plays and put it there more often??

Hmmm.DeBord having a hard time figuring out what to do with our 2nd and 3rd string running backs. Don't add another piece of the puzzle.

We already don't get it to our playmakers enough as it is kamara and Tyler Byrd as examples. Plus being a great kick returner doesn't mean you will be good on offense.

So, his Dad was star RB @ UT and Evan has shown what he can do w/ physicality of defensive player plus great field vision and speed. Seems that we can probably still keep him on D, but give him a go at a jet sweep or two?

Are you crazy? That would take reps away from Dobbs handing off to Hurd on a middle run behind a a weak o-line into a 8-9 in the box D. Don't mess with the formula.

I say get Berry the ball more and get Jennings snaps at DB, let's just both ways until we are out of players

James Berry was a tough talented running back on Johnny's early teams. Talk about taking a beating with no offensive lines - ask James Berry. I guess James has a record that will not be broken with 3 sons having played for the Vols. I am sure he is proud of Elliott who has hung in there and now getting playing time.

Hate to beat a dead horse but but if we improve our third down conversions we would get to run more offensive plays and everyone could get more touches...

We have punted the ball more than any other team in the SEC...more than Vandy, Kentucky, South Carolina, etc....

I was thinking we could run an under center formation and just toss it to him and let him pick up that speed/power.

I recall those jet sweeps we ran with Eric always being a disappointment.

A highly talented ball carrier with not enough touches.......going to waste imo. This weapon is too valuable to only get 3 or less touches a game. Same for Kamara

If you put him in as a gimik on offense every one sees it coming. Now if he can also catch a pass??
Forget the Bama game. We will win out FL will lose, and we play Bama again in ATL. Next time healthier and with more experience. We will be a much better team then.

I can see it now. Butch puts Berry in for a jet sweep. The opposing DL blows our OL up, tackles Berry behind the LOS. All of a sudden Evan Berry sucks and should never be on offense again. Then here on VN the posts would be like, why did Debord give the ball to Berry on offense? Should have given the ball to Kamara. Our offense sucks. Blah, blah, blah bla freakin blah.

Playing up tempo probably gets the Vols more possessions than some of those in front of them
