Evan Berry???

I've thought the exact same thing. He is electric with the ball in his hands. He is soft as lavender at safety. He looks terrified on defense.

How come we don't incorporate Evan Berry into the offense? Seems he would be a great weapon.
Eric, Evan, and Elliot only play defense and special teams. Its on their LOI in fine print.
But seriously I agree. Once or twice a game on that super unpredictable fly sweep would be nice. He is just as quick, fast, and strong in the open field as anyone else running the sweep. Considering randolph, and mcneil are both out of eligibility, that would leave Todd Kelly Jr and Evan Berry at safety next year?? I wouldnt want him to get moved at this point in his career. Return Specialist and Head Hunter Extraordinaire at safety sound good to me .

Evan makes plays. Coaches are always talking about getting the ball into the hands of playmakers. So????

Yes how great Berry is on kick returns . He misses way to many tackles .... Needs go train with his brother on how to tackle

we have a ton of playmakers...

dobbs, hurd, kamara, malone, wolf, jennings, north, pearson, smith

only one ball. we need to figure out how to utilize certain people better (UGA game was a good start), not add more playmakers to the scenario. i think berry at returner (at least for this year) is what we need.

I actually agree with this. Let some of the playmakers we already have get more momentum instead of giving a bunch of guys 1-3 chances a game to make a big play.

For those of you who have played a lot of sports, i think you'll agree that getting into that momentum (or window) as we use to call it, is really when you just cant be touched. got to get "on fire" as NBA Jam would say.

When Evan gets comfortable at safety and begins to make interceptions, his ability to navigate open field is gonna make him very dangerous in the secondary

What's the story on Elliot. I never hear anything about him.

Simply lost the genetic lottery. Elite athlete, on scholarship at historical powerhouse D1 school, and looks like a nothing....

'cause he ain't EB, nor apparently Evan.

If he keeps his current starting position, I hope he only gets one touch max for the rest of our games!

Would be great for causing confusion with the defense if we used him a few times a game. Im sure opposing coaches would cringe if they saw him out there. I wish we would try it.

I think Elliot will be a solid special teams player/backup during his career here.

But man...just imagine if he was at the same level as Evan. One on offense, one on defense? One returning kicks and one as lead blocker.

Elliot could be a slow learner like lots of players are.

He could explode next year and really make a name for himself.

Some kids don't really have their coming out party until their junior or even senior years.

Never give up on a kid and write him off because eventually he could make you look really dumb.

Evan needs to stay focused on his D abilities.

This... Dooley left us with such little talent we've gotten used to players having to make an immediate impact. If butch sticks around and keeps recruiting at this level your gonna get a lot more elliot berry's/rs sophomore and juniors finally getting playing time after sitting and playing special teams for a few years. It's the way it needs to be to compete at a top leve. You can have packages and even sometimes significant contribution from elite freshman but if you do a good job recruiting and don't have bad attrition you need most of your 2 deep to have been around for a bit.

Definitely NOT soft. In fall practice was picking on everyone in sight. Watched him and a lineman jaw back n fourth then finally lock up late after one play. Berry hip tossed him like he was a 30 lb little girl. Like I said, NOT SOFT.

This. Eric was a once in a generation talent at UT when he got a lot of playing time as a freshman. Evan found his place at KR right now. Who knows, with injuries Elliot could come out and blow us away at the end of the year

I say we have Dormady, Jennings, and Dobbs all in the wildcat, and play a little hot potato with them.
