"Sonya Howell you won't have to worry about my daughters poor performance and all the negative things you have to say about a 20 year old student athlete for long. Honestly what type of person, an adult, talks about a young lady that gives 200% to her team every day? You know nothing about my daughter and you have no idea what you're talking about. Any D1 school would be happy to have her. Learn some facts before your twitter fingers get the best of you. Oh and thanks again."

Evina's mother indicates a decision has been made. Not because of Sonya Howell's comment. Seems like something had already been decided before she read a post criticizing her daughter.

Who the hell is Sonya Howell? I have to know my players in these dramas.

While we're messing, wasn't there message board drama btw the Hayes and Westbrook camps last year? I'm telling ya'll, families should just stay off social b.s. media regarding their kids.

This post, without any additional contextualizing info, is not helpful. Here is some backstory. "Sonya Howell" (now apparently banned) made some very harsh FB comments about Evina to which her mom responded. There is now a massive FB thread where folks are panicking that Evina is going to transfer and has been driven away by the trolls.

I have no clue as to whether those fears have merit but it shows that going after players (in this case, random fan "Sonya H." was blaming the loss on Evina) has risks because parents and players pay attention.

On the plus side, posters are showing a lot of love to Evina in their damage control posts.
But I agree, parents and players should just ignore the white noise generated by random fans on social media. It is like worrying about the wind blowing.

How do we even know this person wasnt just stirring the pot. If Evina leaves I am sure it won’t be because the fans don’t show her love and support. Her mom often post about how much love she receives when visiting Rocky Top. If she leaves I’m sure it’s a personal and well thought out decision and it may be because her family and her are so close and leaving home wasn’t what she thought.

I look at other posts by parents and they rave about the hospitality and the love their daughters are shown.

Off topic but I wonder if the staff will bring in some low post help to help bring along the youngins and give KK some help down low ?

I don’t know who Sonya Howell is but the only person I hear blaming Eva Westbrook’s daughter and all the other Lady Vols for their losses is their own coach in every press conference and interview. Everyone else I know squarely puts the blame on the coach and not the players for the teams lack of progress.

I have no idea who Sonya Howell is, but sometimes Evina does exasperate Tennessee fans with her bad passes in crucial situations.
Ironic , you call out how bad 1 player is but fail to mention that they all run around like they dont have a clue what they are doing. Everything about this team is all on Holly. She is the reason they look clueless , probably because Holly is clueless.

I would love to see what a fantastic player like Westbrook could do under the program’s next coach, because I am super confident that the next coach will know how to transform great players into CHAMPIONS.

To an extent but at the same time as a parent when you’re Child, is being talked about and dragged you damn right you’re going to back up your kid.
Get em Eva!

The Vol fans need to understand one thing...this site and the Boneyard are the two busiest WBB sites around. They are dedicated to WBB for the most part. I come here, not as a troll, but to get information that is not available anywhere else except those two. This information is no where else...it's an example of what I am talking about. If, I as a fan of the Gamecocks know it...then your players and recruits know it. You have to be careful about dissing players no matter how true things are in your eyes. My sister attended Tennessee so I do pull for them in all sports except when playing my Gamecocks. That said...the WBB program has some serious problems but it's still one of the most important programs in WBB. I feel Holly will step down if the fail to make the NCAA's. She does love the program and she is smart enough to know that going forward after this season full of expectations "fail" would be futile. In almost 11 years I have posted very few things...

Could her statement possibly mean that the season is almost over, not that she’s leaving? I’m sure it’s just wishful thinking on my part.

No fears! None of these kids are leaving! They came here yes to be a lady Vol but more because they knew they would not be pushed or challenged on a daily basis to get better! Holly told these kids in recruiting that I won't change you or your game! Our practices won't be hard or challenging because I don't know what I am doing! You will play early even if you are not good enough to play! No consequences for bad performance or bad attitude! They did not come to UT blind! This program has been in blowup mode for awhile! I am sure previous players told these kids you will have it made here! So no frets they chose the easy path! Besides athleticism none of these kids have what it takes to play for any of the proven Coaches in WBB!
