This not the 1980’s anymore! Ppl who are hung up on his age will be crying over “spoil milk” for the rest of your lives! Things have changed! Plus, technically, there’s no age limit to finish college or retain your degree! It is what it is!! You either going to get with the program, or continue to complain about what you’re “used too”! You make no rules and hold no weight to change anything! He got the opportunity “late” and that’s just that!

Good luck crying over spoil milk, the milk will still remain “spoiled”
There’s also no age limit for finishing high school and getting a GED but every state has an age limit for participation in school sponsored sports. 24 should be the max age for intercollegiate sports and yes that is my opinion.

There actually is an age limit for attending public high school (getting a ged is different). In most states, it’s 21.

Chris Weinke did not go play in the CFL for a while and decide to come back to college to collect some checks.
Yeah...He went and played pro baseball for 6 years before deciding CFB might work out better..While winning the Heisman at 28 years old he is still the oldest to win the award...I Guess I was WAYYY off base....

I have noticed an interesting trend in track where international athletes are now coming in as 21 or 22 yo freshmen and announcers seem to rarely mention it when those athletes are winning their races

Mainly on the male side. People forget the popularity of athletes with young coeds though in this case he's just the age of a college junior/senior. Imagine the 25/26 year olds in college dorms and back packs like they are traditional students.

I took engineering classes with a guy in his 30s years ago. “Non traditional” students have been on campus forever, just not as common in athletics

I don't want to jinx it, and I don't exactly know how staff feels about this one, but I have a sneaky suspicion/hot take that Burg will be an elite player at the college level and of the caliber to push Tennessee into true contender position. Still the third option behind Ament and Gillespie, but through no fault of his own. Will be interesting to see if I'm right!

The real question I'm asking myself is how much of a difference is there between Burg and Rodney Rice? Based on the video I've seen, I'm convinced it's not a huge difference. I'm nearly certain we didn't spend $1.5-$2 million to bring him in and potentially get him for 3 years.

Rice was close to $3.5m from USC iirc, I would venture to guess Burg probably was less than $500k

Agreed on difference, Rice is a great player but I think Burg covers that position and talent.
