You were talking about his age, though. That’s what the poster was responding to. If your gripe is with the fact he’s played professionally, that’s a separate matter from his age (which has never been a hinderance to eligibility). He can go to college all he wants, but if you play years of PRO BASKETBALL you should not be able to come back and play college basketball to collect some rev share money. What’s next, are we going to let washed up 35 year old G Leaguers hop back to college?
He’s on the team. Maybe in 5 years G leaguers will be able to come back and play in college. The game is different. Nothing you can do about it. Quit b1tch1ng and move in.He can go to college all he wants, but if you play years of PRO BASKETBALL you should not be able to come back and play college basketball to collect some rev share money. It appears that whole dynamic has changed. NIL and now this new stuff does not seem like amateurism does it. Was he making more than all NCAA guys last year? This year? Wonder what will happen when a guy wants to come out of G League to make more money! You were talking about his age, though. That’s what the poster was responding to. I agree in that I’m not sure how one can play professionally now and still be eligible, but we’re clearly in a different era.
That sounds nice, but it’s illegal. It appears that whole dynamic has changed. NIL and now this new stuff does not seem like amateurism does it. Was he making more than all NCAA guys last year? This year? Wonder what will happen when a guy wants to come out of G League to make more money!
I’m have shared my view that the NCAA needs to get back to amateur folks only. Use school to prep for pro career and leave when you want. No exceptions. Pro leagues exist, use them. Don’t contaminate college ball. The residual will do just fine without the prima Donna’s and the hangers on with their hand out.
JMO, but I’d give him 2 or 3 (depending on whether the 5 year rule is passed) - deduct 2 years for the 2 seasons of pro ball.Do we know yet how many years of eligibility they will give him? It makes no sense to me to shorten it. Like, isn't he a college freshman? What are the bylaws they are looking at to justify limiting his eligibility?
This not the 1980’s anymore! Ppl who are hung up on his age will be crying over “spoil milk” for the rest of your lives! Things have changed! Plus, technically, there’s no age limit to finish college or retain your degree! It is what it is!! You either going to get with the program, or continue to complain about what you’re “used too”! You make no rules and hold no weight to change anything! He got the opportunity “late” and that’s just that!He better be all league at 26 years old. I still don’t know why these guys are allowed to play college ball.
Call the NCAA and ask them! They made the decision! And this is NOT the first time they have made this decision! Maybe you should “google” and see if it will give you the explanation you want and need to sleep better tonight! Can anyone explain why he was ruled eligible? IMHO, it's cut-and-dried that he's not eligible because he played professional basketball for 2 years in Israel, and presumably was paid for it.
It will in fact take Congress to set it up where judges don’t have latitude. But it can be done. They messed around with this last House deal, but it should be one of the few bipartisan efforts out there. Way more have nots than haves wanting to level sports back up.That sounds nice, but it’s illegal.
I happen to agree with you, but why the hostility towards others who simply question how he's allowed to play? It's a reasonable question to ask.Call the NCAA and ask them! They made the decision! And this is NOT the first time they have made this decision! Maybe you should “google” and see if it will give you the explanation you want and need to sleep better tonight!
Yeah. We are in a total new era of college sports people, get used to thisThis not the 1980’s anymore! Ppl who are hung up on his age will be crying over “spoil milk” for the rest of your lives! Good luck crying over spoil milk, the milk will still remain “spoiled”
