Check out 396 on Comcast Knoxville, ESPNU-HD is now available. It's still listed as "TBA" but its there now.

Great for the SEC games starting Saturday!

When Memphis Comcast got it about a month ago, the guide said TBA for a week or two before legitimate info was available.

I wish it was HD in Nashville. Even though it's pixelated I can't stop watching it. I guess I'll take what I can get.

It should be soon if it isn't there already. Comcast is supposed to have the HD feed activated everywhere this week.

well that's two things off my "what i want before football season" checklist. 1.) all the espn channels that comcast has been holding out on. 2.) them in hd.

DirecTV is still showing in SD...but they did throw us a bone and move the channel out of the sports package and into the standard one about a month ago. At least the games will be available for viewing, which is better than last year!

ESPNU HD

ESPNU HD logoESPNU HD is a 720p high definition simulcast of ESPNU that launched on August 28, 2008 to coincide with the start of the College Football season. [5] The service debuted with the football game between Vanderbilt and Miami University. The HD version of the channel is unavailable in most of the country. On August 25, 2008, Multichannel News reported that the HD version of the network was only available on 5 carriers (Time Warner Cable, Verizon FiOS, Blue Ridge Communications, Atlantic Broadband and Broadstripe) at the launch date [6], but it hopes to add reach deals with more distributors before the 2009–2010 college football season starts, because of the ESPN family of networks' long term contract extension agreements with the Southeastern Conference [7] and the Western Athletic Conference [8]. In late 2008, AT&T U-Verse added it as well. As part of its new carriage agreement, DirecTV has announced that it will add the HD version by the end of the first quarter of 2010. [2]

The only hope for ESPNU in HD on DirecTV is that there is now satellite bandwidth available, thanks to them dropping Versus over contract disputes.
