Good grief, Michigan has a cake walk schedule this year.

Same could be said for Ohio St since Urban took over. Big 10 hardly ever schedules well, yet outside of the SEC they are the media darlings of the country for some reason.

They play a home and home with Oklahoma this year and 2017, a home and home with TCU in 2018 & 2019, Oregon State at home in 2018, a home and home with Oregon in 2020 & 2021, and home and homes with both Texas and Notre Dame in 2022 and 2023. They also shift their scheduling to a 9-game conference schedule with no FCS teams starting this year.

Yep, in week 3 you're going to have two top 10 teams going at it.

There's certain plays from the history of the Vols that I could watch over and over again without it ever getting old. This one made my list the moment it happened.

I listened to it like five times and I'm pretty sure he says "rolling" instead of "going".

Could be...I was watching it live in Tampa...

Loved hearing that live.

Was even better watching it live...

'Bout 6 or 8 guys around me...in Raymond James...we all kinda looked at each other after that romping of Northwestern...and this play^^^...and we ALL said "it's gonna be a LONG off-season waiting for next year!" We were ALL right...

Three things just leap off the screen to me. Michigan #3 is a joke. UCLA with the 2nd coming of Peyton Manning at QB is that low?!?! Lo how the mighty have fallen, not used to seeing the Quack Attack start out that low, the bloom has fallen off that rose in the Pacific Northwest.

How is Oregon ahead of TCU? Lol

Yea, its a mess there and it goes beyond whatever kind of football strategy they have employed there for last 4 years. I don't dislike TAM but I can't stand that type of football, or whatever it is that they do. :)

However, back to the subject at hand. Besides LSU, basically most of the teams are taking a hit personnel wise, usually its the other way around in the West. Until proven otherwise, the road goes though Bama in the West but LSU has 85% of their personnel coming back. I think there is quite a fall off after Bama/LSU in the West, at least on paper. So... if you only lose 2-4 in the West you are going to be top 20 team... who's it going to be?

My guess its Auburn but only if their offense can score mega points, but someone is going to be there. I think overall this is the weakest the West has been overall in quite some time. TAM still has some personnel but overall very poorly coached and a scheme to me that makes little sense.

If LSU can develop a QB that is just solid, does not have to be great, QB, who does not make critical mistakes that cost the team, LSU should be pretty tough to beat for anyone. Tigers are loaded every. QB play will determine if LSU makes the playoffs. Not that has not been said for the last several years. That has been the missing puzzle for LSU for a long time it seems.

I could care less about the # next to our Vols preseason. The best thing about this poll is the fact that Tennessee has a brutal gauntlet with Florida, Georgia, A&m, and Bama but... To only see 3 teams we play this year in the top 25 is the lowest # in a long time. I am pretty sure we are accustomed to seeing around 5 to 6 teams on our schedule in this poll in season's past. If team 120 can come together for a stellar performance in Bristol in front of 150,000 plus in prime time, then this team can walk into any stadium in the country with no fear. This is why having Sutton, Reeves-Maybin, Kamara, Hurd, Barnett, Dobbs and the rest of our proven leaders is the X factor this season. I am confident that Tennesse can play between the hedges, play against the 12th man, and most importantly turn NEYLAND STADIUM into an absolute Hornets nest. I want to hear and feel the stadium like it once was. It is a fact that Neyland stadiums electricity and intimidation factor was at an all time low in the D***ey years. Neyland stadium will once again be a killing field for any opponent that steps on to Shields-Watkins Field. We have a duty to give OUR ALL FOR TENNESSEE and that means emptying your bucket physically, mentally and emotionally to pull our Vols through to Victory. It will be 12 on 11 at home and 12 on 12 on the road this year.

Your posts suck. Instead of being a sarcastic a'hole to people who have rightfully criticized Butch, enjoy these good times. You'll feel much better.

I've enjoyed the rebuild and saw it without an agenda as some have. So, I will enjoy these good times too and I'll enjoy watching all of you come running back acting as if your BS during the rebuild was "appropriate".

Really excited about Jeff George. Could be a tremendous weapon with his length and ability to "go up and get it." Just needs to gain a little muscle.

I think 10th is a fair starting spot.

It gives us some serious respect for how close we came last season and for what is seriously expected this season.

10th also puts the monkey on the backs of our coaches and players to OWN IT and to hit the field and PROVE IT to everyone in the nation.

10th gives them a goal and the ladder to climb up WIN by WIN to attain their goals.

WIN big at Bristol and we may jump a spot.

WIN against floriDUHHH and we may jump another spot.

UGa, aTm and alaBummer WINS should jump us up at least 1 spot per week or more after that brutal 4 week run.

That should also set us up for HOTlanta and the SEC Championship game which is a WIN of the SEC East Championship and the attainment of goal 1.

10th is high enough for what's been earned so far and low enough to keep a chip on our shoulders and keep 100% total focus on every game.

Climb on up boys!

Earning a Championship WIN by WIN...VFL...GBO!!!

It was appropriate at the time. Are you gonna disagree that we should have been at least a 10 win team last season as well or are you gonna blindly deny that too?

Justin Hunter type frame and ability In my opinion. If we have Preston, George, Jennings, malone, and Croom on the field. We will have some height advantages in multiple match ups. We can finally throw some of those Jump Balls that we use to see, peerless, kent, stallworth, washington, swayne, banks, hunter, rodgers, and patterson go up and get!

I understand having a positive outlook on your team but jesus, the people on here saying we are ranked too low need to take off the blinders. You could argue we be ranked anywhere from #10-#25. As long as we are in there it's all that matters. We have come off almost a decade of being mediocre to downright horrible.

Pre-season rankings don't matter. Winning games matter. Other teams will lose, and the polls will shift weekly. Take care of business and you'll climb the polls like you should. But people that think we are being "disrespected" at #10.....lol.... just lol.....
