Just saw on college gamenight where they were talking about the UT/UVA game. They both picked UVA, BUT neither had any idea what they were talking about. one said, finally they are getting lofton the ball more and riding his senior leadership since he is graduating. The other pointed out that we may be over confident after blowing out LBSU, even though UVA blew out a horrible albany team. Well i guess just proof that :espn:

It's "fools gold." Because apparently Albany is a real powerhouse that tested UVA to the fullest. And Ramar sucks because we only have one good guard in Lofton

I'm still stunned by Lavin's assertion that the game will be "a grinder played in the 60s." Has he actually watched either team play this season?

Yeah... I don't even really watch that much college basketball, and I gave a big "what the hell" at that one.

I've given up on ESPN. Go to SI.com and read Seth Davis, Grant Wahl, and Luke Winn. I think they are the best team of basketball writers this season. Also, they all see that the Virginia's guards tendency to turn over the ball, combined with their inability to create turnovers of their own will doom them on Sunday.

Also, weren't these same ESPN commentators you're talking about all up in arms on selection sunday because UVA was over-seeded?

ESPN should have Doug Gottlieb on every tournament show. He's the best they've got. Also, Luke Winn is the worst college basketball writer in America.

Rick Majerus=Great coach, awful commentator.

Maybe he should stick to picking which ladies inspire him to watch in-room porn. I do like Rick, even if he is more suited for the sideline or buffet than the booth.

For what it is worth, Digger and Vitale split between UT and UVa.

Sorry, but this fan thinks that Gottlieb sucks oranges.

The problem Majerus has is that he is far too technical in his analysis. 95% of the viewers don't know, and don't care, about the efficacy of a double stagger off the weakside or doubling the post with two bigs. He might as well be speaking a foreign language, because only true basketball addicts understand half of what he's saying. I would love to sit around a bar and discuss strategy with Rick. However, being hypertechnical makes for awful television.

It's got to be the hair gel.
I saw him on Mike and Mike the other morning... He says he just wets his hair down in the morning and it goes that way naturally. Lavin is a medical anomally, ladies and gentlemen; his scalp actually produces hair gel.

I'm sure that he and Greenie had a lot to talk about...manicures, pedicures, and the like.

We'd have to shoot in the 20% range for this game to end in the 60s. I shudder at the thought (Butler game anyone?).

When RM said 2 good guards beats one great one. Well using his thinking, the Vols are going to win. Didn't UT have 3 guards that scored 20+. All SL and RM could talk about is how their two "good" guards scored 20. Then the "Fools Gold" comment, couldn't that also been said about UVA? RM go live "Liife on a Napkin", and Lavin no wonder you got canned, you really don't know what your talking about.

I did a double take on that too. Am glad to read you have the same opinion. My Bball knowledge is growing this season but still lacking. I am convinced these types of comments are the result of the ESPN commentators and experts feeling they have to say something to avoid dead-air.

Remainder of the ESPN commentators are looking for a lot of scoring. Even Digger got this one right when he said this one is about shooting %.
