ESPN's sleeper for 2012

That was a great write up and it had a great pic of T Bray as well. ESPN I think hates us a little less now.

I think the program is headed in the right direction. It takes time to heal/rebound from all of the adversity the vols faced the last three seasons. With the schedule being what it is and getting key players healthy, I feel we are in for a suprise next season.

We certainly do have the tools. Florida and Bama in knoxville. Trade LSU and Arky for MSU and Mizzou.

"Unlike in 2011, when it had to play all three SEC West powerhouses (Alabama, Arkansas, LSU), the Volunteers will play only one of those three next season (the Crimson Tide at home). In fact, there are only three contests that look like mismatches at the moment (the Bama game and road trips to Georgia and South Carolina), so if the statistical upgrade is there in 2012, the Vols will be set up well to make a run."

Is USCe really a mismatch? Losing gas pumper and Gilmore significantly weakens their passing Offense and Defense. We're poised to improve our passing O (QB's with playing time and deeper WR core) and have the tools to build a great D as well.

Don't think the gap is as wide as some think.

If Lattimore comes back healthy and Connor Shaw continues to develop they'll be considered better than us.

I agree though, the gap isn't even close to what it was in 2011

The comments below the article gave me my best chuckle of the day.:eek:lol: One candy fan said he was going to put more money on the commode whores to win next year. I wish I had a truckload of cash, I would bankrupt that dumba$$. If all vandy fans are that stupid you could make some serious moolah on the game.

What are you saying? And which part of this are your quotes? Are you referring to Vandy?

Maybe ESPN is trying to prop us up a little so that if we lose 6-7 games again this year they can rip on us alot more. It's not so much fun piling on when a team is the doormat. Give them hope, and then drop the hammer on them. I think ESPN has a plan and this "sleeper hope" was just step #1.
