Agree? Think his move from wide receiver to tight end, and the fact that he'll hopefully be healthy for the first time in a long time, puts him in the potential breakout category?

Jason Croom, TE, Tennessee, RSr.: Even with 37 career catches for 574 yards, Croom lands on this list because he's moving to tight end, and has a chance to be an even bigger piece of Tennessee's offense in 2016. He's also on this list because injuries have eaten into his career, and this move could give him a fresh start ... even if it means more contact. The 6-5, 245-pound receiving target already has good size for his new position and it sounds like he still has his speed an athleticism, making him a mismatch for both linebackers and safeties.

“Jason right now is a sponge,” Scott said last week. “He’s into it. He just wants to learn ball. He wants to get better each and every day. He’s following right along the lines of what our focus is this spring, which is just individual improvement, overall unit improvement and team improvement. He’s just in there. He’s a sponge, and I met with him a little while ago.

“He’s just coming up, and he’s really raring to go and really excited about having the opportunity to be back out there on the field. He’s running well and moving around at 250-plus pounds now. He’s excited and doing really well and learning and just working his tail off.”

If Croom stays healthy throughout the pre-season practices then I think he and Dobbs will develop a sense of timing across the middle that's going to create one on one matchups outside for Williams & Malone.

I really hope we go with a jumbo package on the goal line this season. Croom, Wolf, George, and Williams. Secondary nightmare.

Would love to see Jason have a good year

Totally agree with this article. And by doing so it opens it up for Wolf in 2tight formation,for the WR's, and vice versa

If he has less than 40 catches and 500 yards I'd be shocked. It wouldn't surprise me for him to tear it up. The talent is there, now I believe he's in the right spot.

So now that gives Dobbs 3-4 WRs, 1-2 TEs and 1-2 RBs to throw to...Or he can have a WR (Jennings) throw to him!

I'd love to see Croom and Wolf to do a worthy impression of Rivera and Witten on the field next year...Which would be nice since we never had those two on the field at the same time!

Did we ever have two great pass-catching TEs playing together?

OL blocking is key here but with 2 TEs, one can always lay back and block. This forces quick decisions by LBs and presents mistake opportunities.

Croom is a match-up nightmare always has been. I've been wanting him at tight end for years!! I'm personally stoked and hope the kid balls out and goes to the league. Always a class act and a humble person. Kill it Croom!!! GBO!! 🍊🍊

1 Malone/Jennings, 2 Williams/George, 3 J Smith/Perry, 4 Wolfe, 5 Croom. Are you freaking kidding me!!!!!! Look at the size!!! Thats unreal to me!! All but the slots 6'3 and bigger!!! Hell yea!!

Bajakian definitely used that play far too much early on in 2014. He used it 5-6 times in the first two games of the season (with the pass always going to the TE and never to the WRs) before finally dialing it down. It took Wolf nearly getting his knee blown out for him to get away from it.

Anything to get that guy on the field more. We already have a good one with Wolf. If he draws any attention from defenders it helps Malone and Williams at the very least. Not sure he'll break out but I would expect production.

That catch against S Carolina - albeit wide open - played a huge role in getting Tennessee back to relevance.

I agree. The biggest upside to me is being the DC and having to game plan for an athletic, pass catching TE. I also agree we may see the most benefit to our WR corp. The game is about spacing and mismatches and THIS is one way to you do it...

After the last two seasons I really couldn't care less about the collective size of our WRs....we haven't used it. I'd much rather have guys who can separate and get open and make plays in space. If they can finally do that, I wouldn't care if they're 6'5" or 5'6".
