Here are the 10 reasons the Volunteers should be considered among the few teams that could actually win the CFP next season.

-Dobbs is dominant in the SEC
-Thunder + lightning + Dobbs = good backfield
-College football's most experienced receivers?
-Young-ish line is very good
-Historic special teams
-Bob Shoop is a terrific hire
-Aggressive, ball-hawking secondary
-Good luck getting past those Tennessee linebackers
-Good luck dealing with those Tennessee pass-rushers
-UT faces an increasingly rare easy SEC schedule

The bottom line

Tennessee's four losses last season occurred by a total of only 17 points and included contests against the eventual national champion (Alabama), a College Football Playoff team (Oklahoma) and the SEC East division champion (Florida). With the caliber of talent this year's club is returning, the Volunteers ought to be able to close the point gap against elite teams and make a run at their first national championship since 1998.

some excerpts

That dearth of experienced competitors could put Joshua Dobbs near the top of the SEC quarterback list by default, but his performance last year shows he doesn't need the help to keep up.

This could be the best special-teams platoon in Tennessee history.

So Tennessee can score points on just about any offensive or special-teams down.

The article goes pretty in depth in breaking down each of those 10 points. Really good read

Was the seller "Nigerian Prince"? Be careful

No. Some guy on eBay named Miles. Said he doesn't plan on being there this year

Good for you then. Hope you get to see another UT championship.

Glad to see ESPN give us some positive publicity but I still hate them. By far the worst journalism in all of sports. Well not by far but you get what I'm saying.

Nice try but it was Butch Jones.

Jump higher Vols.

Its funny, and a little dis-heartening, that bammers have more confidence in Dobbs than many Vol fans. Tide fan in the comments states that, "Dobbs is Fabulous." I've heard this same sentiment from a lot of bammer fans. Maybe it has something to do with above-average performances against the tide, dating back to his freshman year, but still it seems as if he is always the QB they fear the most.

agree with all except "rare easy SEC schedule"

total oxymoron. If you play Ala. twice in a season, it ain't an "easy SEC schedule", even if the other 7 games are against KY!!:banghead2::banghead2::banghead2:

Ever notice how UT has never played Bama twice in a season? It didn't happen in the 90's and it isn't going to happen this year.
