I’m hearing that Brent Venables is the guy at Arkansas assuming Tennessee doesn’t come into play.

This makes it sound like he's holding out for an offer from UT, maybe you will read it differently.

If he has decided to move to HC, he should be a prime target.

If he's "holding out" for UT, that shows that Fulmer has contacted him. Positive news either way.

There was a thread on here yesterday saying the search was opened back up with Fuller being interested in Petersen and Venables, so why wouldn't Venables still be in play for UT today?

Alright, so something has to be stopping people from going after Norvell. I wonder what it is cause he seems like a good fit for the Arky job imo. Seems like there's been no news about schools really pursuing him.

Wait, I thought Venables didn't want to be a HC?

If they pass on Venables to get Steele, don't forget Clemson didn't take the step until Dabo fired Steele and hired Venables.

Steele and Pruitt are disasters. Pruitt is a great DC but I’m out if they hire him as HC. I know him going back to his days at Hoover and he is not fit to be the face of a high level program. Steele would be a disaster bc he’s a nervous wreck on gamedays. No way I want that guy as my leader

The guy says he doesn't think Brent wants to end up being like Bud Foster, where he's at a place too long.

Gambling issue has been the rumor.

It's been mentioned in some threads he has a gambling addiction that makes some ADs rightfully nervous.

I have zero knowledge of that being the truth, only that it has been said.

Arkansas is hiring a new AD that's from Houston. He was a big fan of Kiffen, almost hired him for Houston job year. So he may very well be in play for the hogs

Fulmer seems to favor these Clemson guys. I think he's more likely than Chad Morris..

Fulmer needs to call Venables and hire him NOW!

No way we should let Arkansas get Venables when we can take him away from Clemson so easily.

Fulmer just needs to spend the $$$ to hire him and give him all the $$$ he needs to hire a great coaching/recruiting staff.

Get is done Fulmer!

VFL...GBO!!!

Pruitt leaving doesnt hurt Bama. Next man up for them and then we end up with a coach with an IQ below 80

No discounting Venables at all, but would think hard not to go with Tee if we are going coordinator route.

Venerables has been successful in more places than Tee and has built dominant defenses everywhere he has been. Martin is working under Helton; honestly I'm not sure Tee has ever had full reign over the offensive play calling.
