Espn: TN & BAMA equal shot at SEC

Too late.

They can't dump on us for 20 years, cost Peyton the Heisman, and expect to be welcomed back. Butch and company should relegate ESPN to the near-bottom of the interview priority list, one notch below Vandy's student newspaper and one notch ahead of John Adams.

Peyton didn't win the Heisman? Damn! Now I have to change my screen name!

UT Baseball was supposed to be pretty good this year too.

I'll be very happy to go 9-4 or better. Just stop the streak of 6 and 7 losses. End the 30 or so cumulative GA, Bama, and FL losses. Stop the Missouri streak. Keep whipping the Cocks and close the Spurrier W/L gap. Winning the SEC is way out there. I'll take it, but feel like that discussion should be a year away. There are plenty of other goals still.

So you're telling me that ESPN has Georgia with the best chance to win the entire SEC? That article lost all credibility after I read that. They have no proven QB, but they are the favorites? Give me a break

Well guys we shouldn't get excited for the season. We should all just be like the rest of the negative Nancy's on here and just expect another subpar 6-7 win season. Anyone who even remotely thinks that UT can win more than 7 games is just insane. God forbid anyone think that UT can actually be very good this season. That's against the Euless.

Just curious, I read the whole thread again and saw none of these "6 or 7 wins" predictions you spoke of. So is this post referring to the two or three that have said that in other threads? Or are you referring to this thread? No offense, I honestly just don't see the posts.

Honestly, I think you toss out Vandy, Kentucky, South Carolina, Florida, and A&M, then the other 9 teams all have some realistic chance at getting to Atlanta. And at that point, "any given team....blah blah."

We will get to the SEC championship game and then Butch will leave us for Notre dame sending Tennessee into another tailspin.

Butch is here for the long haul. The first human will set foot on Mars before Butch leaves Knoxville. He'll be here in 2041 when we celebrate the 150-year anniversary of Tennessee football.

Even though it's non conference I think the OK game will be big to show that this TN is ready to live up to these new lofty expectations. Lose that one at home and the "pressure" to win kicks in at UF. Need that big win against the Sooners to get the wind at our back!

Also SIAP, and yes they Love Us now.

Orrrrr... this is all part of their nefarious plan to hype us all the way to NC favorites and pre-season top 10 because ESPN actually hates us and thinks we'll win 6 or 7 and they want to watch our fan base implode and self-destruct and start eating each other when that happens.

If only I could convince myself that the Vol's have equal chance to win the SEC as Alabama. Beating Bama will perhaps signal the return of the Vol's back to prominence in the SEC and this fact may not be debateable.
