Disclaimer: I'm not a homer. I'm a fan that is equally as critical of UT as I am an admirer.

Can we just talk about Tyler Bray for a second? The kid is going to break 1000 yards passing (on the season) this weekend. Manning records are already starting to go by the wayside. No one in the SEC is even approaching his yards, completion %, TDs... I could go on.

Sure, SEC play starts up this weekend, but Florida, South Carolina, and Georgia all have suspect defenses. Have you seen the scrubs those teams have been tuning up against?

Look, I know some people (or most) are saying, "Well, Cincy just sucks..." The point is, ESPN picked them to win. They hung like 72 on the team they played the prior week. Cincy has offense and a potent one. NO one was calling for the shellacking UT put on them, though.

On side kick in the first quarter???? Brilliant.

PS: I married into the UK thing... don't hate :)

Can't help it, you have a UK avatar...
Nice post, if we don't start running that ball better, then it's simply going to be out of necessity that Bray throws for 1000+ this year.

Great points about Bray. Although he got SEC POW, i still feel like he is flying under the radar nationally. If TN wins this week at the swamp, and Bray keeps up this pace, he will blow up Nationally.

OP Re: your avatar - There are a lot of UK fans here in Charleston. They are almost as bad as the Game Cock fans i have to deal with.

Go Vols.

Hey man, it's not too late to switch your allegiance. Just slowly stop pumping UK in puplic and every once in a while talk about how much you like Dooley and the VFL program etc etc. He's going to make a lot of people start liking UT so you aren't alone. I have a friend who finds a different team every year it seems but it works because he appreciates good coaching and athletic ability. Programs change every few years so your fanhood should be allowed to change also. Just my opinion.

We still gave up some plays where guys failed to wrap up when they hit Pead near the line of scrimage, and that makes me nervous, but it makes me feel better to be reminded that Cincy scored 72 on the team they played the week prior.

If we can Keep Florida in the 24 range, I really like our chances.

Heading down a little south of you to the low country this weekend. The rental company got a little miffed when I asked them to have the condo cleaned before our kick-off. Seems they were Gamecock and Barner fans. Don't know what to expect now!

I agree with you 100%.

Good thoughts...Bray is a special player and we are better than most people think. I stated on here last week that we would win by 3 TDs or more in the thread "Blowout". I just knew our offense would expose a last place defense from the Big East.

Yea I have been battling a Michigan friend about Tyler vs Robinson. He truely thinks Robinson is better and says Bray isnt top 3 in the SEC because he hasnt heard him talked about. Given he is true blue and lives in Michigan and doesnt follow the SEC at all but I think its just ludicrous.

I can't believe Poole and the O line have given us 2 100 yard games in a row and people are *****ing about Poole, the O-line, and our running game. I think I read somewhere, that will be the first year ever where UT has had a back run for 1000 yards in back to back seasons, if Poole gets over a 1000 this season.

It will happen barring injuries.

We will grind out 100 yards this weekend on the ground IMO.

The pace that Bray is setting for passing yards two games into the season is very exciting! If he goes over 1,000 yards passing in the Florida game (and given that Florida's secondary has given up 248 yards to the less potent and less talented passing attacks of UAB and FAU I fully expect he will) he will be on pace to break Peyton's single season passing yardage record of 3,819 yards. Now whether or not he finishes like he started will be up to him but he has shown so far that he has the ability to stay focused and consistently place the ball with amazing strength and accuracy.

And as for flying under the radar with most sports analysts, I for one would prefer to be the underdog in every game we go into. It gives the team a lot of motivation to feed of off. Seems like being picked to win a big game by major network analysts in years passed, especially the Florida game, was a curse that ensured we lost. It has been a a long time since I was this excited about going into the swamp! It is great to be a Tennessee Vol!!!!!

GBO!!!!!

I guess she made you have a UK avatar and UK as a favorite team and made you leave UT out of your favorite teams? Sounds more like your a UK fan but you guys suck so bad your jumping on the Big Orange bandwagon. Nothing wrong with that but man up and don't blame it on your wife.

btw, ESPN didn't pick Cincinnati to win. Someone that has a show on ESPN may have picked Cincinnati but ESPN as a network doesn't pick either way. I never understood people saying this.

Well, a review of my many posts would tell you otherwise. I lived in Knoxville from '92 - 2010, and always supported the Vols. Its hard to do that outwardly now - Orange doesn't get me the attention I want in Common Wealth stadium. lol It's akin to wearing a Bama shirt in Neyland stadium...
