The last 12 hours are like Christmas morning when I was a child.

I feel like like Andy Dusfrene in Shawshank redemption coming out of the waste pipe and getting cleansed by fresh rainwater...except our waste pipe was 15 years long.

Who in their right mind could've predicted the Vols would be in CFP Playoff Projections in mid 2022 just two years ago right after firing another awful coach? Let alone BEATING Bama, and not just a fluky game. We straight up beat them and are 6-0.

This is a meteoric rise that we have been longing for well over a decade. I was thinking we were just destined to be like Nebraska forever.

And the Elephants are conspicuously absent from that list.
I imagine they see uga beating Tennessee and then beating bama in SECCG. That would give Bama at least two losses. We would potentially be a 1 loss team to the number 1/2 team in the country.

Strangely, as much as I love the thought of winning the sec, the easier path is actually to lose to UGA and then bypass playing another game and slide into playoffs.

No they won't. Young is houdini. Gibbs is the best running back I've seen since AK. They are still bama and were giving up 12 pts per game.

It's time to realize we are good.
I didn’t see we weren’t good. That’s a bad take.

Tennessee is the only undefeated team with 2+ wins vs ranked opponents and (I believe) the only team in the country with 2 road wins vs ranked opponents. There is legitimately no good excuse why we shouldn't be number 1 in the CFP. If the primary criteria for CFP is what you've accomplished this year in the field, no one in the country boasts a better resume.

Only thing I don’t like about that is that we play UGA kind of late in the season. If you take a lose it’s better to do it by mid season. You drop in ranking, and you need time to rebound. Same thing always kills Ohio St, or Michigan. They always play each other last, and only one will go on to the playoffs because of it.

Ah yes AK, the epitome of prior coaching failures. Nfl rookie of the year completely unused while at UT

I definitely agree here. Especially with the attrition in our defensive backfield.

They’ve still got to play Ole Miss and Auburn. I think they lose one of those games as well.

I hope you are right but Auburn is very bad... like Jeremy Pruitt Tennessee bad. Ole Miss doesn't have much of a defense either and I don't think their offense is as good as Tennessee's offense.
