Espn says Buddy Green

Just because you can play the game does not mean you can coach it.

Period.

This is true, but who knows if coaching is an interest of his...if it is, he is definitely the type of player/person that I could envision being successful, passionate and honest with an obvious love for the game, gotta start somewhere

That was already reported by them. Also already reported to be false. The formal offer has not been made to him yet. DD still waiting to decide between SS or BG.

Don't think he's waiting to decide. He's waiting to see is SS would accept and I doubt he leaves Alabama. I'm guessing there's zero chance SS takes the job.

I agree with this, but it also doesn't mean you can't. The first step to being a good coach is knowlege of the sport, Brushi and other former players have that, and I'll bet some of them would be great coaches...PERIOD!

I stilll believe Shannon is taking Wilcox's place. These other guys are being offered pay raises to replace Sirmon. That's is my take, really my HOPE!!! LOL

They better hire someone. Santos has now said he and the family will not be making the trip to Knoxville. Glad we rolled the dice on giving CDD another year to build the roster. If we lose out on alot of these guys AND have another typical DD losing year, this will have been one of the worst decisions ever.

We can not pay a buyout from now until eternity on every coach we do not give a chance succeed. If we were paying all these buyouts...I would officially be able to pay more than UT for the next coach.

Did Buddy Green not coach the Mocs back in the late 80s or 90s? Or was that Buddy Nix?

Buddy is the name of the guy in Elf, and the name of the Cake Boss guy. So it could mean success.

Yes, he coached UTC back in the day...without much success.

:dunno:
Whether you like the hire or not, support it! This damn fan base has become ridiculous. This guy was coaching kids at Navy who were lower level D1 recruits with a great academic record.

Everyone was on Kiffin has his cohorts nuts when they were hired and look where that got us.

If recruits bail on us the F'em. Let em go to some other school, we want kids who want to be at Tennessee because of what the University stands for. All of you snot bubbling cry babies need to either jump ship or get behind this guy.
Amen ! brother. Exactly my sentiments.
The following are for the legion of the miserable......... :moon2: :bottom::pukeb:  :cray:

I wonder how we go from Randy Shannon to Buddy Green? Is there really not a single, quality DC that wants to come coach in the SEC at UT?

Both Buddy Nix and Buddy Green coached at Chattanooga. Here is a resume builder (please note sarcasm) for Buddy Green, he is the last coach to win 7 games at UTC.

Someone has to know it is going on for it to be embarrassing....

No job offered yet and no job accepeted or turned down yet.. Where is the embarrassment,,,Just asking??

We're in day 11 of a VN meltdown. It's embarrassing for the fans that other fans are so ridiculous on the internet. It's like when CLK left all over again except it's only a couple assistants that we're freaking out over.

If the future of Tennessee Football hinges on Dalton Santos, we might as well just close up shop and forget the past 120-121 years. People need to get a grip on reality.

Here is something for you to chew on, what if Dooley had made a hasty hire and Santos did not like the hire. Since he didn't like the hire he chose not to come here. Would you be on here up in arms about Dooley making a hasty hire? I already know the answer.
