No worries. Just wait for EB to come across the middle and lay the wood to Al.

Good read.....just another reminder of Eric Berry being a talented, class act. Tennessee is fortunate to have him as a player and a student. He is the kind of guy that adds luster and legend that will endure for many years.

Everyone keeps saying they throw away from Mays and he doesn't have int's. People didn't throw too much to Berry last year. Their is no way Mays is better than Berry & every NFL scout know's that.

Eric Berry is the type of guy that only comes along so often. He has the perfect combination of ability and instinct. There are many athletic guys that can run with the best of them, there are however very few that have his athleticism, physicality and nose for the ball. He hits like he weighs an extra 25 pounds and finishes like no other defensive back in the country.

Mays is a heck of an athlete and player, but Berry is the better player for the reasons listed above. Both will be successful but any coach that evaluates based on what they see in game situations will see Berry as the better player and a game changer. Those that are big "on paper" guys might see Mays as the better player but even then it would be close.

Just my two cents.

Disagree.

How so, Eric Berry has been so much more productive on the field his stats are far superior.
Mays may be affected by their so called system out there, but Berry knows how to play football like no other.
I would make an argument for Morgan Burnett being a better football player than Mays, tho Mays is still the better player due to a better skill set in that debate.

Mays has said he hopes Berry comes out this year so the scouts can see who is better and said he will go higher in the draft....I heard that on ESPN College FB live

You just made my case for me. Berry is a player. If you put him at corner, he'll shut down the best the SEC has to offer. If you put him at LB, he'll stuff the run. If he gets reps at WR, he'll make a few big plays as well as get rules in place for WR blocking schemes (a la Hines Ward). Eric Berry is an instinctual football player with a nose for the spotlight. Mays is a defensive player most suited for the defensive backfield.

I guess I mis wrote what I was trying to say....basically

Berry is as close to the best all around football player your gonna get, Mays in my mind is just a freak athlete

Do you understand where I'm coming from, though?

Taylor Mays is a Safety playing Safety. He is in the backfield to ensure that nothing too big happens. He is in the exact position for his abilities.
Eric Berry is an athlete playing Safety. His skill sets are so vast that he can excel in multiple areas of the football field. I think that your original post about the 2 is backwards.

Did anyone else notice in the article how it states Mays ran a 4.25 forty. I think that's pretty unrealistic even for ESPN.
