ESPN recruiting says bad news

Considering their main story right now is titled "Climbing to the Rocky Top" and talks about Butch Jones and his recruiting, I think you picked a bad time to pull the "everyone hates us" crying act. ESPN doesn't treat Tennessee any different than any other team. You and all the others only notice the bad stuff about Tennessee because that is the team you care about.

Now I know "ESPN hates us" is blown way out of proportion BUT if you think ESPN is not biased to certain teams then sir your synapses are not firing in succession.

How about some hard data about this topic? Knoxville is roughly the 75th largest population center in the US, but for ESPN, Knoxville is a TOP 10 TV Market. That means not only does ESPN not hate us, they have a lot of incentive to publish news about us because we have so many eyeballs on it day to day. ESPN is all about the money folks. They actually love TN because it makes them money. Time to shelve the conspiracy theory's. :)

Sorry hbvol we all forgot that without Knoxville espn would go bankrupt!

One question I have on the article is this. Why would a rookie journalist, Jared Shanker who is a graduate of Penn St, who supposedly covers recruiting in the midwest, have anything to say about Tenn recruiting whether good or bad?

Sounds as if ESPN needed a filler and Mr. Shanker came up with what he knew, or didn't know, just to fill a spot. Any good journalist could have said "with Coach Jones big recruiting weekend coming up with approximately 30 juniors coming in, one has decided not to come."

just my thoughts on the topic....

I hope their(ESPN) new competition will make it.
