ESPN Preseason FPI ranks UT #14

All of the love for Arkansas is ridiculous. They have won two SEC games in as many years. They finished strong and will be a pretty good team next year, but people are getting way ahead of themselves.

Their issue right now is that they need a QB in order to use the play action pass...and maybe a Peerless Price or Randy Moss.

Essentially, the Hogs are UGA - they have an excellent running game...and that's it. I'm guessing our DLine will eat a lot of bacon at the UA game this year

First off, 14th! Feels good to be finally getting love in the polls again.

Ethan, you could very well be right about arky, but they're looking like a team nobody's gonna enjoy playing. Smash-mouth, old school football. Returning two 1000 yd rushers, 5th yr sr qb, & something like 9 offensive starters in a system that just started clicking in the 2nd half of the season. JMO, but I'd much rather play either of the miss schools or a&m as the 2nd non-conf. Could see arky as The Vols of the west (come outta seemingly nowhere to blow up some folks). Either way, go vols!

I can't stand their coach, but I have to be impressed with their progress. They may have only had two wins but I believe they were back to back shutouts. First time that had happened in the SEC for some time. Plus, they absolutely should have beaten Bama. If their rb doesn't fumble going in to the end zone they win that game.
