ESPN predicts TN W/L

Pretty indefensible and risible that they have us losing to SC and barely beating Arky. Just asinine. Count on the network to put out garbage.
I believe we give everyone a battle because of the d improvements. Unfortunately I believe we do something that causes Fla to win again. I would take a loss to Ok of any size to get a one point win over fla. I go 9-3.

Last I checked we barely beat a marginal IU team in a bowl. Not as if UT was beating anyone of consequence last year.
We also beat SC, who is on a downward trajectory; we, conversely, are on an upward trajectory. Arky won 0 SEC games last year. It's really not complicated.

You are obviously overlooking home field advantage, which is huge in the SEC. Dont get me wrong, I expect UT to beat both. But, it’s not as if UT is coming off a stellar record or recent history.

Outside fan here. As long Guarantano is your QB, he’s good to lose a game or two you shouldn’t lose.

7-5. Lost too many receivers. Don’t have a premier pass rusher. QB position is shaky at best (least talented has the most experience). Hopefully, Bailey is all he is supposed to be, and can start by mid year.

I agree I see UT finishing 9-3 at the very best but more likely 8-4 or 7-5, 6-6 would be a huge disappointment. That’s assuming we actually play a full season this year

We beat USC by 20 in 2019. Home field worth a few but not that many. Plus UT is projecting upward and USC downward.

I'm thinking 8-4 at minimum, and hoping that we win one of the big 4 games next year: OU, FLA, BAMA, UGA.. I hope if we only get one, that it's FLA at home, can't stand them but naturally I want the VOLS to win them all, and be 12-0, but realistically 8-4 or 9-3 are reasonable expectations for the upcoming regular season, at least in my opinion.

Tennessee will go 7-5 with a loss on the road at South Carolina, and will beat the usual teams that are even worse than we are.

We haven’t really shown signs that we are ready to upset any of the 4 teams that are favored to beat us. We can hope that perhaps we find a way to beat one of them but there is also the chance we will slip up and lose a game we are supposed win so that brings us back to 4 losses. 8-4 is my expectation. We should be at a level where, on paper, we should be better than the 8, but you know us, well find a way to lose one. Florida should be our best chance of an upset, but we all know about the ‘curse’ so I give us about a 3% chance in that game.

So we have a better shot at Alabama (-10) Georgia (-9) and Oklahoma (-12) than South Carolina(-43).
( edit : i see now -43 is worse than -10, but still)

That’s percentage on Vols chances of winning. They predict UT has a 43% chance of beating SC, almost 50% and I’d say if it was in Knoxville, you could flip it and say UT has a 57% chance of winning. They are saying UT has a 10% chance of beating Bama. UT has the advantage of a starting QB coming. Bama does not, especially if they go young like expected.

Our depth charts are much better this season, right? We gave Alabama the dickens last season until we just got over-whelmed by our own limitations. So, I'm not buying it.

I think there could very well be a 10 game 2020 season with 8 SEC conference games. Here's how I think it will go for Tennessee in a shortened 2020 season

Furman W 52-14
Florida L 27-24
Missouri W 30-17
@South Carolina W 28-20
Alabama L 34-24
@Arkansas W 42-27
Kentucky W 28-17
@Georgia L 38-28
Troy W 45-16
@ Vanderbilt W 30-14

2020 Tennessee 7-3 and 5-3 in the SEC

2021 Outback Bowl

7-3 Tennessee vs 7-3 Iowa
