Yes. Jones has yet to even show a glimmer of getting his team to play over their head for even one game.

I doubt it happens this year with the many offensive changes we will see and a porous defense with little depth at any position.

I hope that the coaching changes that were made can break the trend of poor talent utilization/development. I'm not sold on Wells, Scott, or Canales though, and I don't think we'll even have a real hint of how they are going to play out before the GT kickoff.

Really? Alabama '15? Oklahoma '15? Georgia '15? Florida '16? Whatever, man.

Lost to Bama and Oklahoma in '15. FL last year we were the slight favorite (home field?) so that's not really playing over our head. We should have won in FL in 2015 but let it slip away due to awful tackling on "the 4th down play".

Think you have only reinforced my point.

Your point is nothing and you don't point out the variables that we faced ! So point your finger all you want but it makes no sense!

Got it Snowflake. Another millennial that can't stand the truth. Love it.

Mink is very optimistic, sometimes a little too much imho. But, I enjoy his posts and I'd rather his "over the top" optimism than the ones that hate Butch so much, they are hoping we lose just so he will be fired.

The whining about Alabama is getting old.

The two of you wanted to preserve the 3rd Saturday in October. You wanted them. You've got them.

It's like the Big 10 and PAC 10 being left out of the BCS due to the Rose Bowl and whining about it.

You don't have to play Bama every year. Call your AD. Petition the SEC. Move Missouri to the west and Auburn to the East.

But, you asked for this.

Nowhere near as old as UF fans posting on a UT message board.

I hear ya. And I would like to be optimistic for Butch too. But based on his track record, there is less and less optimism every year that goes by. I don't have "hate" for Butch. I do feel that this is a job he may be in over his head on though. Our fan base is not happy with 4-4 SEC records each year. We want 6-2 or better every year. Few coaches will ever be able to do that but Tennessee program and fan base really demands it. Hence the realization that this is a pressure cooker job; whoever is the coach.

The only team that can hang with us is mighty Alabama, but I think our resilient Coach Jones will build that mighty brick wall and thwart the Great Saban! :dance2:

I'm on the fence: playing Alabama every year has become a given loss lately, given their status above the field since Saban took over. That puts us at a 1 loss disadvantage compared to the rest of the SECE, saving the other team that draws them. However, I love the tradition. So, I'm torn.

My favorite answer is that they lose Saban, get smacked for a violation, or some other way fall from grace and we have a fighter's chance to beat them. I just don't see that happening any time soon.
