Typical. 4 games that will make or break the season, handle business on the other 8, it looks like it's gonna be a good year.

I believe, in my heart, that this is a 10 win season because of the offense. Don't let these guys know it though. They need to keep proving themselves.

Sad fact..

Since 12/1/07, UT is 2-21 against SEC West and 4-0 against Big 10 West (or Laggards division..whatever Big 10 calls it).

The difference between 9-3 and 8-4 is significant. Going 8-4 with losses to UF, UGA, Bama and LSU means the Vols lose to all 3 top rivals and both teams from the SECw. Getting that UGA W at home is big-- it could decide the East.

If we beat Florida and Georgia, but still lose to LSU, and with our automatic loss to Alabama, the chances of winning the east are still slim. We have to hope that whomever wins between Florida and Georgia, loses another conference game or we are SOL.

That's what I call a waste of almost 15 Million $$$.

There are some awfully stupid people running things on the hill the past decade.

And to think, I almost called that an investment!

Amazing that playing an extra SECw team every year has become one of the biggest impediments to winning the SECe. It's why I don't think CBJ has much chance of winning a division title as long as Saban is coaching at Alabama.

The margin of error is just too small for Butch to pull off a 7—1 season which is the only way to ensure a division title without needing other teams to lose games.

The old model before the addition of Texas A&M & Mizzou you played the 5 teams in your division and 3 teams in the other division. Now it's 6 & 2. What extra game are you referring to?

They must be passing around some good stuff over there.

There is simply no way Fl is a higher percentage than Georgia. Just on paper alone Georgia has the strong team.

Perhaps he meant having to play Alabama with Saban was the extra game impeding UT from winning our division since it's a guaranteed loss. Not sure. 7-1 in conference would have easily put us in the SEC Championship game the last two years. Heck, 6-2 would have with such a lame east division.

Brady Hoke. He is going to make our D- line mean, physical, and play like monsters. We gave up a lot of rushing yards last year.. I dont see that as an issue this year with Hoke in orange. IMO he takes away a loss on his own and is the main reason we end up playing in Atlanta this year. Big year for our defense!

I'm not saying we will win, but, the days of an "automatic" loss to Alabama are over, IMHO.
