Is it just me, or does the very existence of this poll in Week 2 of the college football season to determine a vote for the winner of the Heisman Trophy for the most outstanding player of the year illustrate what a ridiculous sham the Heisman Trophy is?

I even wrote in Crompton a couple of times...why you might ask...well let me tell you. He needs confidence and what is going to give you more confidence then seeing your name on a Heisman list.

If he is on there I would find a way to make sure he saw it

Apparently you didn't read the fine print above that poll. The winner of this on-line poll will receive ONE first place vote for the Heisman Trophy (out of 924 official votes). In other words, this poll means virtually nothing as far as determining the winner.

I just voted and EB is currently 3rd. That's pretty good. I need to see Best do it against someone good*. He disappears in big games. I need to see Harris do it longer. He's 4-3 as a starter.

*against the top 3 PAC 10 teams last year (Oregon, USC, and Oregon St) he averaged 85 yards from schrimmage and had 1 total TD.

I have been voting Berry on my home computer, but when I vote from my office pc I vote for Crompton...I really want to get him on that list...

What kind of crazy list. Clausen is on there and has more votes than Sam Bradford. Maybe its just because I dont like ND that is seems so crazy.
I voted for EB he definitely deserves to be in the Heisman race.

Sam bradford is hurt so... he is just on there aas a courtesy there is no way he wins it this year!

Any way... EB is #3 right now

Just an observation, but does anyone else find it a little strange how Tebow and McCoy are the top two names listed on the page where you cast your vote? Not saying ESPN is pushing for one or the other but......

On another note......ERIC BERRY!!!!!

That bugs me too. Usually some type of alphabetical order, which, if I'm not mistaken would make Berry the first name.

He needs a really impressive game against Ohio, they're mediocre and he should be able to get some big hits/picks if they go anywhere near him.

He needs at least 7 picks IMO.
