ESPN 'OTL' set Kiffin up for possible violation

Since tOSU had 69 over the past few years, I'd say we've still got plenty of slack to play with.

UGA is such a shining example of how to behave well. I can't imagine us ever being able to recruit a choir boy who also had an offer there.

Don't they sing Kumbaya in the locker room?

:lolabove: haha I love seeing all the arrests of Georgia players every year

But once again you have to look more carefully at the numbers. I'd say 69 violations for OSU over the past few years is actually completely accurate because last year alone they had 26. But that was by all the athletic programs. The football program only had two in the entire year. Those were both for inadverdent(sure) contact with a recruit by an assistant coach.

While it has worked to UT's advantage so far these violations have been occuring at an alarming rate and it would be ignorant of any fan to not be at least a little concerned about the frequency of violations and the negative effects that could come down the road if this continues. It has served it's purpose, but now I would prefer for our performance to keep us in the news.

If there are any other program's violations that you are interested in (Bama, florida) i'll look it up, also I'll try to find out about penalties that have been given out in similar situations.

alarming rate? Ridiculous when the total is in line with many other institutions (including UT) over the past few years.

please do. I look forward to your post that just says "nothing"

How is having 2-3x as many violations in half the time in line with many other institutions? If you can do basic math you can see that that is significantly more. It's fans like you that give UT a bad name through total ignorance. You should be happy about the positive ways this has affected UT but to completely ignore that it is a problem and has been occuring at a significantly higher rate is just ignorant. There's a thin line between dedicated and stupid. utvolpj, to get all pissy for being informed of the facts around the situation is stupid. calm down and stop acting like a georgia fan.

unless you have NCAA data to back it up there is no real way to know the rate at which all schools commit violations (since very few release the details). To believe saying BB's name or using a smoke machine is leading us to lack of institutional control is (to use your word) ignorant.

Still waiting on that list of penalties schools have received for secondary violations.

You might have a point if you could point to other institutions that have been negatively impacted by secondary violation. Otherwise, it is just your opinion that it is a problem and I choose to disagree.
