ESPN LOVES us

Not being negative, but pretty sure I see this every year around this time... I believe we will be good, but as we saw this year, health is everything... had maggit not gotten injured, I don't think we lose a game this year.. but without him, we lost 4...

Agree. Our defense improved once Vereen stepped up his game and if Maggit hadn't been injured in the first Qtr of the OK game we would have won that game and beaten UF as well.

We've got a great shot at the playoff next year.

I believe the biggest hurdle to make the playoff is not winning the east but having to beat bammer in the SEC championship game. The SEC championship game should be the first round of the playoff! You almost have to believe if you win that game the next two wouldn't be much tougher, that goes for every team in the conference!

Go Vols

IMO our Vols have got a lot to work this off season, before we can really consider our boys making the playoff. I just want to break the Gator streak to start next season, and work towards trying to win the East. Anything further than that right now IMO, is a long shot.

Not doubting you, just curious and still new to VN: in each of the past several years, you really saw folks predicting the following year would be a championship run? Like in 2011 after a 5-7 season? Or 2012 after another 5-7 season and a coach just fired? Or 2013 after yet another 5-7 season?

I know that you get 20,000 people together in an online community like VolNation and you can expect one or two on any extreme fringe, but...wow.

I am getting mine on the small of my back so it just shows while I ride my moped to work

Heh, very funny mental image from that. Well done. :)

be happy with 8-4, certainly played like a 7-5 team this year, but other than a few blunders we could certainly be 10-2 as well. No reason to hang ur heads Volnation, future is very bright for years to come.

No. No we can't. We can all focus on getting "2016 Natty" tattoos, though. Prove your fandom, VFLs.

You mean like this guy?

That's actually a pretty cool looking tattoo idea (minus the whole thing about it being about Kentucky, and minus the writing which seems very amateurish by comparison). The whole UK covered by claw marks that reveal a tiger head, that's a cool look.

Listening to the Dan lebatard show this morning, talking about the college football season and how anyone can get hot towards the end. Dan says I'm not sure I can say if Tennessee was put in the playoff they couldn't run the table and win it all. Espn U loves us!
Look at the final sec standings on espn.com. Do you see anything that jumps out at you? I thought we finished second in the east. At first it appears that Georgia gets the nod because of their overall record. Look closer at Vandy and Kentucky, then Arkansas and LSU. See anything interesting? This is no software glitch. It is a deliberate snub on us. But then again were just a bunch of "trailer people" that Chris Fowler called us after we won it all in 98. I am sure that espn did not use their influence to make sure Charles Woodson got the heisman over Payton. You have to forgive me sofflavol, but I am not "feeling the love".

Who's this Payton you speak of?

Have that many Vol fans upgraded to double wide's that ESPN now has a healthy respect?

So man, you know what you gotta do. Buy Insider access, so you can send them mails directly, then jot them a note along the lines of this:

Dear ESPN Statistician Dumbazzes,

The Vols are second in the SEC East. Fix it pronto.

Love, VolNation Representative #23,417

p.s. tell Chris Fowler to pound sand.

That ought to take care of it, for sure. :)
