My wife is going to be so thrilled when I crawl into bed and accidentlaly wake her up, but try to calm her anger by saying that Mike Leach might or might not be our next coach

More...A Washington St player has told me that they’ve been told to “wait for their coaches to let them know what is going on w/ Leach & Tennessee.” Coaches also told players “nothing is certain AT THIS TIME”...but the players expect him to leave for Vols

They shouldn't be so glum, if they're good, we'll gladly take them as transfers

Washington State football coach Mike Leach met with Tennessee athletic director John Currie in Los Angeles on Thursday to discuss the Volunteers' head-coaching vacancy, a source told The Associated Press.
The source spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because neither side intended to make the meeting public. Leach was scheduled to fly back to Pullman, Washington, later Thursday.

The Vols and Leach have not negotiated, and a deal between the two is not imminent, a source told ESPN.

So which is it? very conflicting.

Is that guy just another radio host looking for notoriety a la Basilio?

Oh yeah. You know it's already written. Just insert the coaches name and dump.

Did you happen to read the Clay Travis piece today? He specifically talked about how the National Media relies on coaches and agents to break news stories. As a result, they are in a position where they need to protect these people that are feeding them information.

I thought it did a good job of helping to explain a lot of about the national media's coverage of Tennessee over the past week and how little has been written about the disaster that is John Currie and Jimmy Haslam compared to Tennessee's unappreciative fanbase with unattainable expectations.

You can read more on it here. The specific part I mentioned starts about halfway down, just after the video.

Clay Travis can be overly bombastic, but he’s right about a lot. Particularly this.

I am friends with a professional golfer, and one of the things that amazed me was the relationships that were built around agents. Much much more influential than I had thought, and I imagine it is like that in other professional sports too. Maybe even more so. So it wouldn’t be surprising in the least that media works this way. As an outlet for influential agents

They all know it’s a part of the business. It sucks for the players but you can’t fault someone for taking a great opportunity, same way coaches don’t get upset at players for leaving early for the draft
