on college football that Spurrier first major win at S Carolina. He has been there 5 years i think. Has had alot of recruits and his system in place. Wow Dooley has had 6 games. Not years with some players that should not be on the field but they have to be because of other players being hurt or no talent. You got to give Dooley some time. If your a Vol fan then you should have known this year was going to be tough.

South Carolina is a crappy program and Spurrier is well into his 60's, probably thinking about golfing as much as recruiting. That's why it took him so long. But congrats to him and his team.

I agree Dooley should be given time.

But no way Dooley is going to get 5 years.

Good point. I will wait until after the Alabama loss to burn all of my UT gear and my couch.

Spurrier's talent and depth level his first year at USCe was greater than what Dooley has had this year.

Guys, I think this might just be USCe's year. I'll hang up and listen.

We must try to stay positive. Look at todays game. Bray looked good, Neal had some good plays, J. Smith had some great plays, Hunter had 7 catches for 110 yrds/td. The freshman class has laid a good foundation. It is going to take time. I know it is hard to see our vols lose. It makes me sick, but I feel things will get better.

Yep they used to be, but they have recruited well recently. That is an idiotic comment for a "guru".

You're right. People were giving me crap for watching the last 5 or so minutes because they told me the game was over. It was over, but it was nice to see some of our future guys get some snaps. I told my buddies that these are the kids that are going to be competing for SEC championships in the next 2-3 years. We have a solid foundation to build on, we are only going to get better. Honestly, I'm just looking forward to the fact that we will have the same coach next year.

I'm really upset I don't have your approval. South Carolina has a traditionally crappy program, and that does matter to recruits. The recruiting has been good considering what they're normally at, but not as good as some other teams, and it's not really surprising.

And he was still taking a team that has never been to the conference title game. It's not surprising that it took a while.

Agree. It's definitely much easier to get a program back faster at Tennessee than USCjr. Not sure how that's even questionable.

Alabama was hardly in a great situation when Saban got there, but he's already won there. He wouldn't that quickly at a place like USC.

After sitting back after the game, I am still really upset, but that would be the case no matter how bad we lost. I actually thought that this game was the most winnable, with the way we have played everyone else this fall. I also thought that the way we played today was how we were going to play from day one. We all knew that this season was going to be a roller coaster ride with a lot of twists and turns and the like. I guess that the feeling of disgust over the last couple of years is what is really starting to mount. Is it just me or did we run more 3-4 sets today than normal. I tried to keep count, but it just seemed like we were running more schemes out of that tonight. I am not a big fan of that scheme. Maybe once we have more depth it will grow on me. Anyway, we will get better in the future, I just think today was a wake up call (again) for how far we have to go. GO Vols!!

Dooley is playing the hand he was dealt. This isn't a coaching issue, it's a depth and experience issue. Vol fans are just going to have to take their lumps and wait it out. Recruit, recruit, recruit.

A former NFL coach with a NC is going to get more time rebuild a program then a coach who was 17-20 at La Tech. That's just reality.
