ESPN just said we will wilt in the swamp

I find this extremely funny..

Like our kids are not used to playing in the biggest stadium in the SEC..

These arguments may hold true for kids that play in a 40-50k seat stadium and then go into somewhere with 80-90k.. that's a big shock for someone like that..

but we are going to be intimidated by going to a smaller stadium then our own.. I don't buy it..

**shakes head**

Are you saying that playing at home and playing on the road are the same? At home, the offense has quiet before the snap. On the road, they have thunder and silent snap counts. I guess Neyland is the only stadium with provides home field advantage.

** sarcasm **

I definitely feel like Floriduh can be beaten this year, especially in Floriduh. Tyler Bray just seems to live for this kind of stuff. We shall see come tomorrow. I believe, do you believe?

Has anybody noticed if Bray gets sacked or knocked down on a play..the look in his eyes after he gets up...its like it just pisses him off royally...and usually makes a good play on the next snap....He don't get rattled he gets even.....the Iceman cometh.....GBO :loco:

I do not know why I bother opening any thread that starts with ESPN. Same sh*t different day. Does it never get old talking about how much ESPN hates us? Here is an idea, maybe this is actually just an opinion from an unbiased commentator who has no dog in this fight and is just voicing what he thinks may happen, rather than hating us.

You really seem bothered by all of this "ESPN hates us" stuff. Just hit the "ignore" button and your stress level may start going down. That way you can be happy and all of the conspiracy theory types can be happy too.

Tennessee has never played in the heat in front a bunch of loud people in a big stadium before. We'll be lucky to get out alive.

First game in the swamp, but this young squad almost pulled off a win at LSU last year...and they've played at Georgia and SC. It's not like they've never been in a big, hostile environment before.

They know what they're going in to. They won't be shocked.

This. And if Bray can throw a pick six on his first pass at USC and then turn around and play the way he did, I don't see the Gators being able to rattle him.

I know we have not beat UF in a while. It doesn't help our confidence as fans that we have lost 6 straight. I know most like our teams chances, but due to us playing in the swamp, the belief of a win isn't there. UF isn't unbeatable in the swamp. Ole Miss won there in 09 and MSU in 10. We finally have a team that can do it in the swamp. We have been complaining about the need for a QB over last few years, guess what we have him now. Grab your sacks and pick your heads up, we got a game to win tomorrow, and the team will play surprisingly well.

ESPN loves the gators

Because they've been winning.

I hate it, but I agree with some of the Gator posters on this board. People on this board hate ESPN for not giving us any credit, and they hate ESPN for jumping on the "UT bandwagon" at the same time.

Most the people on this board -

To the few with common sense.. keep on keepin on!

ESPN said that (T.O.$.U.) The Ohio State University would beat U.T. in the bowl game.
(T.O.$.U.) had Bobby Hoying, Eddie George, Shawn Springs, etc. How did that game turn out?
ESPN also chose UGA to beat U.T. at Athens one year. Antionio Wardlow blocked the punt and recovered the fumble for a score and we won 51 - 33.
ESPN chose the 18 - 0 Patriots to win the Superbowl against the Giants, but ESPN forgot to ask Brandon Tyree.
If ESPN had been in existence in 1976, they likely would have chosen the U.S.S.R. to win the Gold medal in hockey.
ESPN doesn't have a crystal ball. They don't know it all. They are correct more often than they are wrong but " You play to win the game." So let's go play to win the game.

I really think Freak should put in an "ESPN hates us" sticky thread. Imagine the room on the server he could save. I just love the irony of the fact that so many people come on here(VolNation - An Official ESPN Affiliate) to type "ESPN hates us." ESPN has just come to realize that, at certain times in certain places, negative press outsells positive press. With that being said, what are the odds on who Herbie and Corso will pick?

Who cares what ESPN says. We win the game, and then you get respect and accolades. Wins bring respect not 6 game losing streaks. Oh its not a home game either fellas.

I think its funny that so many people, even some vol fans, keep harping on Brays wins all being in the state of Tennessee. The kid is from Cali and the fact that Memphis and Nashville is within the borders probably never crossed his mind. I get that he had more fan support than he will in the swamp, but Bray is like cool hand Luke. I've yet to see him rattled, so until they actually do it, I'm not worried.

Throw an interception? Night in the box.
Fumble a snap? Night in the box.
Miss an open receiver? That's a night in the box.
Throw into double coverage? Spend the night in the box.

I'm not worried though. Our boy can eat fitty eggs.

Notre Dame should be 2-0 according to ESPN & we should be 1-1.

I'm assuming it was Robert Smith. He hasn't been the beacon of accurate game forecasting this season.

:lolabove:

Robert Smith just picked us to win and Pollack picked us to lose while butchering every name that he tried to say.

Sounds about right.

Bayless is a moron.. and that opinion is based on NOTHING he has ever said about UT. I can't believe that guy is actually on TV..

Bayless' continuous march for Tim Tebow's hall of fame candidacy makes him look like an idiot every single day.

I went through this whole thread wondering why you had not commented yet. I was working on a great comment about how something must have happened to keep you out of it. Then I see this. Darn.

The only part of the OP that is unreasonable is the statement that our receivers are not good enough to open up the game.

I do think there is a portion of every fan base that thinks that ESPN hates them, and harps on it. For some reason mature adults act like children when sports is involved. I guess our loyalty to our favorite teams brings out the most visceral emotions we got.
